Outcast: Second Contact

Outcast: Second Contact is a action adventure open world game developed by ‘Appeal’. It’s coming out the 14th of November for Xbox One, PS4 and PC. Outcast: Second Contact is a complete remake of the original1999 Outcast game. That’s 18 years. Let’s take a look.

In Outcast: second contact, players control Cutter Slade who is an former special forces operative who was sent on a mission to the planet Adelpha which is the home of an ancient and advanced alien civilisation. Cutter Slade went with a group of scientists but not everything went according to plan. The game has quite a bit of emphasis on how your choices and actions will determine the fate of the two worlds.

Outcast: Second Contact has superior graphics and reworked controls. Basically they are improving the game in every way possible and straight up we can confirm that the game looks real good. As players go about trying to prevent a terrible catastrophe, they will notice some new things… things that even the players of the 1999 original will be surprised by. So expect a lot of new things coming your way which is how it’s suppose to be; because having just an improved graphics game is great but at least add some new stuff.

In this strange parallel world, magic and science mixes together at times, which means players can expect some strange stuff that you would only see in fantasy worlds. Outcast: second Contact have some cool and advanced exotic cities to discover and explore. An alien planet means alien enemies with are normally fierce enemies. expect everything from lush jungle ares to lava rocky places to frozen, snowy looking lands. in total there are 6 different continents.

New moves for Cutter Slade which players need to master like: sprint, a cover system, dodges and rolls. Go absolutely anywhere from the start, meaning complete freedom. The weapons you have are nor normal at all but think about your situation and use the right high tech gadgets and evolving weapons for success.

We checked out some gameplay and it looks like the game is going for the same feel that the original has but obviously improved. It doesn’t look as impressive to us as others will say it is. It’s clear that a good amount of work went into this but we can tell they could have done more but are trying to still keep it classic.

Overall Outcast: second Contact looks like a trip down memory lane for the original fans but a new adventure for newer gamers. This game has everything from the original but some extras. The graphics are good but the music and sounds are better. The world design and environments are definitely very good indeed. It’s what you would typically expect from a remake. The developers ‘Appeal’ did a very good job with this game. Outcast: Second Contact might be worth checking out. Now this game might be a remake but you can never remake… the ‘Earth Walk!’

Assault Android Cactus

Assault Android Cactus is a arcade style twin stick shooter game developed by ‘Witch Beam Games’. It’s coming to the Xbox One the 7th of November but already out for PC and PS4. This game does look fun but let’s take a look.

In the Assault Android Cactus universe players control junior constable Cactus who takes on a task bigger than herself. Basically she responds to a distress call but ends up stranded on a space freighter. It gets worse. The worker robots on the crippled space freighter are after her as in going to attack her. She needs to reach the brain of the ship. She might find other fellow androids along the way.

Instead of lives Cactus uses a mechanical device that works like a battery. Like a battery it loses power over time. So Assault Android Cactus forces players to move fast, think fast and whatever you ned to do, do it fast. The battery drains very quickly over time. So expect bullets and explosions everywhere.

There are 9 playable characters or should we say Androids. Each one has different play styles and personalities. So maybe stats like speed, damage etc. There are 25 stages in the campaign and they are split into 5 areas which are different parts of the ship. There is a mode called ‘Infinity drive’ where you can take on daily challenges and test your skills and might. It’s also here where you can get competitive with the rest of the Assault Android Cactus community.

We know this game has been out for a long time now but we at X35 Earthwalker have never heard of Assault Android Cactus. We checked out some gameplay and Assault Android Cactus does look like a fun game. It is fast paced and the bullets are definitely everywhere which is what you would expect from a twin stick shooter game. Best of all about this game is that there is co-op action up to 4 player.

Overall this game has a good amount of cool stuff to offer. Assault Android Cactus did not get our interest or attention but we can see that it is a good game. The developers ‘Witch Beam Games’ did a good job with this game. Assault Android Games might be worth checking out. Now androids may run out of batteries but guess what never runs out… the ‘Earth Walk!’

Road Rage

Road Rage is a new racing game developed by ‘MaximumGames’. It’s coming out the 14th of November for Xbox One, PS4 and PC. It’s suppose to be a unique racing game not like anything else out there. Let’s take a look.

Road Rage has a simple but interesting story. You are a normal citizen but live in the city of Ashen. Sounds normal but there’s one problem. Ashen has become a dangerous place. The police don’t even bother with that place anymore and is pretty much ruled by the worst biker gang around. worst as in they are so bad. so players join this gang and have a goal to rise through the ranks to becoming the boss of this dangerous gang. So basically, do you have what it takes?

Now when you check out some gameplay like we did, you can instantly see what you would get. It’s fast bikes, racing and most interesting of all, weapon wielding. That’s right. Players and characters can swing pipes, crow bars, sledge hammer, golf clubs and it gets even crazier with swords like a katana and even a chainsaw! Like that’s totally fair. So race through the streets where it’s all about getting money and being the fastest while dodging chainsaw, blades and that rusty looking sledge hammer.

There’s more to do than just race in Road Rage. With a total of 98 missions you get to do everything from races, combat races, escort jobs, delivery and even all out gang fights. 42 of the missions are story driven while the other 56 are all side missions. so be prepared for everything.

It’s all about the bikes though. Select your motorcycle from a range of options and then customise your bike to make it your own. Something to brag about. Exhaust pipes, body etc. some designs can get a bit crazy but nothing too ridiculous.

We checked out some gameplay and honestly we aren’t impressed with it. The graphics aren’t top level and it does seem like another racing game but with weapons. So far nothing truly special. Road Rage is an open world game though as you can go cruising around a massive city with many different areas like a downtown, china town like area, a fort looking place and a haunted hills. Maybe haunted as in no one lives there anymore. So there is some sight seeing to do.

Overall Road Rage isn’t something for us at X35 Earthwalker. It doesn’t seem to compare to other current games so we judge it as it is. It doesn’t have anything that makes us want to play. We are sure though that there will be some gamers who are have just been waiting for a game like this. We see the fun side definitely. It’s definitely not a bad game from what we see. We will have to keep an ear open to know what’s happening with Road Rage. The developers ‘MaximumGames’ did a good job though. Road Rage may be worth checking out. Now some people experience road rage but you just have to experience… the ‘Earth Walk!’

The Mummy Demastered

The Mummy Demastered is a new 16-bit 2D action exploration game developed by ‘WayForward’. It’s coming out 24th of October for the Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC and PS4. The Mummy was loved by many people but this is a demastered 16-bit action packed new version. Let’s take a look.

The Mummy Demastered will straight away remind you of a certain game that had a similar look. That’s right… Metroid. There are many rooms, different areas and lots of exploration. Basically the story in The Mummy Demastered is that an ancient evil has arisen somehow. Princess Ahmanet has brought a supernatural army with her. An army of monsters, undead, insects and much more. Players control an elite is from the monster hunting organisation called Prodigium. You and your team are at the scene but you lost contact with them (as always). You need to know if they are okay and so you search but the primary objective is to defend humanity from evil. But… Will the bad guys let you?

Now games like this automatically bring up instant expectations. Many gamers want lots of rooms and areas to explore. Many want a map or a build as you go map of the levels and areas to make navigation easier and reduce the chances of going in circles. We want a lot of variety to enemies which require different tactics weapons to deal with. So The Mummy Demastered is not going to have an easy time so let’s keep an eye on this game to see if it meets expectations for not and we at X35 Earthwalker aren’t pleased with everything.

We checked out some gameplay and it’s what we thought. Honestly not much to say, it’s supposed to be 16-bit, it’s 2D, exploration is crucial, use mysterious artifacts, weapons and upgrades to fight your way through the horde. We aren’t saying this is a bad thing but what you see is what you get. There is a variety of environments like abandoned tunnels, tombs, streets of London and forests.

Overall this is a fun looking game. The sounds and music are great. Now it does look like the difficulty level of The Mummy Demastered might be too low at the moment from what we have seen. So we will just have to see. The developers ‘WayForward’ did a great job here. We at X35 Earthwalker will keep an ear open for this game. The Mummy Demastered might be worth checking out. Evil may have arisen in this game but evil could arise above… the ‘Earth Walk!’

AER Memories of Old

AER Memories of Old is a new adventure game developed by ‘Forgotten Key’. It’s coming out the 25th of October for the Xbox One, PS4 and PC. AER Memories of Old looks like another one of those that has high emphasis on relaxing, taking it easy and checking out the environment and view. Let’s take a look.

In AER players control a girl who somehow has the ability to transform into a bird. why? Well she is a shapeshifter. As a bird she does exactly what you’d expect. She can fly and soar through the air gracefully and quite fast. This is important as exploration is the main word for this AER. Explore and check out the floating islands. This world is filled with secrets which players must discover and unlock to progress through the story. The story in AER Memories of Old is about the end of the world.

The gods in AER are forgotten somehow because they got lost in certain events that shattered the world. Or maybe the memories of gods got lost in the events. Either way it’s strange. The events also what caused the world to be as it is right now, with fragments of islands left in the sky. Thanks to being able to turn into a bird she can reach these islands and explore them for herself. Come to think of it, if she is a shape shifter what’s the limits of her abilities? can she only be a bird? Do shape shifters only get one form? Why not change into a dragon? Questions maybe the game will answer.

AER is said to have endless skies so fly for as long and as much as you like. There are also ancient runes to be explored as well but everything in this world is in danger and it’s up to the player to save this world, to save reality. Since this is an open world game there is going to be lots to do and the size of the game proves this.

We checked out some gameplay and it is exactly what we thought it would be which is good. There is a lot of flying and enjoying the skies. then coming to an island to look around. you may find a cave or similar entrance. There are some others things in AER as well. Nomads and even large creatures. A trailer revealed a large black creature with glowing lines on it’s body. It looked really cool by the way. There are artifacts to find and a big story to unfold.

Overall AER Memories of Old does it well. There are strong relaxing, taking it easy mechanics in the game with a heavier story. The emphasis on exploration could be a problem here. Hopefully there won’t be too much repetition. We do believe the world of AER needs more life in it for more excitement but let’s see. The graphics is minimalistic art style and look real good. The sounds and music are also very good. The environments and designs are really cool. The developers ‘Forgotten Keys’ did a great job with this game. This game might be worth checking out. Now in AER Memories of Old, the gods are forgotten but we can never forget is… the ‘Earth Walk!’

Final fantasy XV Comrades

Final Fantasy XV is getting their first multiplayer expansion called ‘Comrades” for Xbox One and PS4 the 31st of October. That’s right, you heard us. Fans of the Final Fantasy XV will be thrilled to hear this and we can confirm that it’s going to be excellent. It’s pretty much what you would expect it to be. Let’s take a look.

Basically, the story behind the Final Fantasy Multiplayer Expansion Comrades is that Noctis who is king at the time vanished into the light (whatever that means) and so darkness saw the opportunity and covered and overran the earth. So some brave comrades are here to fight and bring the light back to the kingdom of Lucis. The players are these comrades who are members of kingsglaive who have powers and abilities invoked from different lucian kings. Sounds interesting but quite simple.

So the big adventure of Final Fantasy XV with the exploration, fighting large and powerful monsters and bosses that many fans loved can now be experienced with friends. Off course it’s different though. Still a large world with tons of things to do like even get a chocobo suit which you can wear and run around, this is so far our favourite thing (the chocobo suit). So no A.I’s this time, just you and your hopefully equally intelligent friends. This also bring other factors into the equation. For example now that you can communicate and strategise with your allies more effectively now, wouldn’t the enemies be more powerful and difficult to balance out this new advantage of the players? Think about that. Strategy needs to be tight this time around.

We have checked out some Final Fantasy XV Multiplayer expansion Comrades gameplay and everything does look cool. The awesome graphics, the excellent sounds to the amazing visuals and large monsters. the animations are always good here. It’s going to be very chaotic with all the magic and abilities being thrown around so make sure to keep an eye on your character and what’s happening around you. Off course players get to customise their characters to how they see fit. The level of customisation is quite high. There will be a good number of options to select from for the: top, bottom, shoes, gloves, outfits and accessories with sections like ‘top’ having more options within like: face, hair, features, voice figure, attire, colour etc. When you think about it, there is quite a bit to choose from which is very good. Come on, who doesn’t like options?

Overall the Final Fantasy XV Multiplayer Expansion Comrades is looking really excellent right now. The smoothness of the gameplay and action is top level. Zoom around and fight as you please to get the advantage. It has been confirmed that characters from the main game like Ignis, Gladiolus and Prompto will be playable characters in future game updates. The developers ‘Sqaue Enix’ did an excellent job with Final Fantasy XV Multiplayer Expansion Comrades. We at X35 Earthwalker will definitely be keep an eye out for this game. This expansion is worth checking out. It’s said that Final Fantasy XV Multiplayer Expansion Comrades will be epic but it certainly ain’t half as epic… as the ‘Earth Walk!’

In the Shadows is a new puzzle platformer game developed by ‘Colourspace Studio’. It’s coming out October 13th for PC and on steam but later in the first quarter of next year for Xbox One and PS4.This game was supported on Kickstarter and is now seeing the light of day. Let’s take a look.

In the Shadows is about a grown man who heads back into his childhood imaginary world. He does this to remember his past (can’t you just think about your past). He wants to make sense of his life (there is literally a better and accurate way to do that). It’s suppose to be a “deep emotional story” as described on in the Shadows website.

Now the theme of ‘In the Shadows’ is fighting your fears. Now the game does a clever way of handling this through the mechanics of the game. For example there are shadow monsters which are dangerous and supposed to represent fear but when they are exposed to light they turn into everyday objects like ladders, tables etc which players can use to their advantage. Pretty clever concept here.

There are different light sources in the game like lamp posts, table light, light boxes etc. Now these different light sources will change the monsters into different objects like a trampoline, table, ladder or even a key. Basically you have to use these monsters to advance. They may scare you but they can help in a way.

Think about it. There are these monsters but notice they are shadow monsters and they are afraid of the light. When the light hits them, they become objects and stuff that you see and use everyday. Maybe the game has a message for gamers that some people have fears that are there everyday but when they are looked at and seen in the light, it’s nothing to be afraid of but used to your advantage, hence facing your fears to advance. Maybe but let’s see. Either way, nice concept.

We checked out some gameplay and it’s sort of what we expected when you see it. It’s a simple game with simple graphics out to tell a simple but quite deep story. It’s not something to be compared to Halo 5 and the evil within 2 etc but it’s good for what it is. In the Shadows have stars for players to collect to unlock hidden levels and secrets. There are many levels and different worlds. Multiple said to be hard puzzles to solve.

Overall this seems like an interesting game. It doesn’t seem like a great game but the developers, ‘Colourspace Studio’ did the best they could with what they have and they made something well. Many people supported this game to get developed and it’s soon here. This may not be your style but might be just the thing for others. This game may be worth checking out. Now some people are afraid of shadows but what’s always in the light is… the ‘Earth Walk!’

sonic forces - X35 Earthwalker

Sonic is back and he is back in Force (see what we did there?). Sonic Forces is a new action platform game developed by ‘Sonic Team’ the ones who did ‘Sonic colours’ and ‘Sonic generations’. It’s coming out November 7th for Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch and PS4. Sonic Forces looks epic. Let’s take a look.

In Sonic Forces the world has been destroyed by Dr Eggman (took him long enough) and a powerful new villain. That’s right, a new guy is here. It gets worse… it’s a line up of all the famous villains and some new ones too. So expect to encounter: Dr Eggman (off course), Chaos, Metal sonic and Zavok. The new enemy though is called ‘Infinite’. Let us guess… even though all these powerful enemies are here, for the sake of plot the heroes still win somehow. Don’t you just love fiction.

Since it is a Sonic game you would expect fast paced chaotic action with robots everywhere, loops, ramps and jumps etc, well Sonic Forces has got it all. There are three types of gameplay. You can zoom and dash through the ruined landscapes and fight hordes of robots as the modern Sonic, charge through perilous levels and platforms of the past as classic Sonic and most interesting of all is that you can create your own character, from hundreds of different items and accessories, who uses powerful gadgets to take on enemies across iconic zones. So pure speed and combat, or classic platform dashing, or create your own hero and fight. Some classic sonic gameplay below:

Now there have been many fans that are concerned about Sonic and the recent games. Well we at X35 Earthwalker have checked out some gameplay for ourselves and can confirm that Sonic Forces is going be great and exactly what the fans want from a Sonic game. Thanks to the three game types you can play in the style of the classic sonic games across familiar but modified levels, play in the new and exciting high speed direction of the Modern sonic as all games should be moving forwards and lastly get the gamers themselves involved by making their own character who they can show off and share online. It’s a excellent combination. Sonic Forces has done things right. Even more gameplay below:

The graphics are fantastic. The sounds are excellent and the music is what you would expect from this year we live in. There are some tunes with a beat and some tunes that have a more classic feel. The environments and scenes are actually worth stopping to look at with the water, buildings and even ruined areas. Having the iconic villains back is actually really cool. Metal sonic is a boss and many know this. Chaos is back to spread more chaos (see what we did there?) and off course Dr Eggman. It honestly wouldn’t be a Sonic game without him.

Overall Sonic Forces looks like it has done everything right. From graphics, to the story, to the villains and the game types which can be played. Fans will love this. The developers ‘Sonic Team’ did an outstanding job with this game, We at X35 Earthwalker are looking forward to see what more epic action Sonic Forces has in store for us. This game is definitely worth checking out. Now Sonic is fast, real fast and fast is good but he certainly is not as fast as… the ‘Earth Walk!’

Elex is a new action role playing open world game developed by ‘Piranha Bytes’. It’s coming out October 17th for Xbox One, PS4 and PC. Fantasy and science is coming together in this game. Let’s take a look.

Basically there is a planet called Magalan which seemed to have everything going for them. With a population over billions and well advanced in technology. What could go wrong? Well a meteorite showed up and hit Magalan. It’s now a battle to survive and deciding the fate of the planet. Elex is a very important element which is limited and guess what… it came with the meteorite. Elex can do a number of things like make magic possible and provide access to it, “re-sculpt life into a new form” and even power machines. Valuable indeed. So what’s the future for Magalan? Magic, technology or is Elex not trustworthy and more dangerous than they thought.

From what we know, there are four groups or factions of people right now with very different believes and ideas for the future of Magellan. The ‘Berserkers’ in Edan use transmute Elex into pure mana to do crazy things like turn a wasteland into a lush forest. They rely on magic to bring hope and reverse the damage of the meteorite. The ‘Albs’ in Xacor consume Elex to make the people stronger, think with increased clarity and be free from emotions. They believe that the strong survive and get somewhere as they go to conquer all of Magalan relying on strength for the future. The ‘Outlaws’ in Tavar want nothing to do with Elex, gods, being emotionless or magic. They just believe in choice and want everyone to have what they call freedom. They scavenge for equipment and weapons and want easy lives. The ‘Clerics’ in Ignadon worship the god calaan and believe that the consumption of Elex in any form is a sin. They instead use Elex to power their machines. They are all about technology. They have plasma weapons and even mechs. They believe in a more powerful technologically advanced Magalan.

There is a load of emphasis on the role playing aspect of Elex. Players will have to select a companion and a faction. From there you will influence the world. You influence the world through all your decisions and actions. Will you make an enemy or an ally? What is your attitude towards people you encounter? Will you go by how you feel or by what you know? Interesting right? Well many games say this but not all get this free choice consequences system right. Will Elex get it right? We hope so. This game also hasn’t got your typical class system. Instead there are skills that you can learn but you need to find a teacher who can teach you such skills. This sort of reminds us of the game Shoalin where you must defeat masters of different martial arts to learn their techniques and moves.  Pretty cool.

In terms of combat and weapons in Elex, there is a lot of options. This game has magic, science and brute force styles so that means a lot of weapons and styles. There are swords, shotguns, rockets, cross bow, flame thrower, plasma rifles, harpoons, hammers, magic and much more. So get out there and grab what you want. Players have access to all five regions of the game right from the start. So you can go wherever you want and fight do whatever you want pretty much. Beware though of mutant creatures that are throughout the world of Magellan. As they can be powerful forces that end your adventure.

Overall this game seems really cool. The concept is good and the ideas behind this are big. The factions are very different and so are their beliefs which work well. The graphics look fantastic from what we have seen already. The sounds are great as well. The developers ‘Piranha Bytes’ did a fans tactic job with this game. It is definitely worth checking out. The factions believe different things but we know they all believe in… the ‘Earth Walk!’

JYDGE is a top down shooter game developed by ’10tons’. It’s coming out October 6th for Xbox One, will come on PC and Nintendo later this year but already out on PS4. This game is said to contain brutal justice. Let’s take a look.

In JYDGE players basically must build their own Jydge with which to handle and eliminate crime in the megacity called Edenbyrg. Now this isn’t any normal justice. This is violent, brutal justice. Get in there and gun down all the criminals and scum of the mega city. No handcuffs, not court, no innocent until proven guilty and no mercy. Use rocket launchers to blow stuff up, smash through walls or riot shields to protect yourself from harm. Just get in there.

You can modify your Jydge to suit your play style or the situation at hand. You can modify your gavel rifle deciding which parts have which effects and deciding which companion drones to join you on your mission. So are you going to have a stealthy Judge who can blend in with the environment using chameleon or will you just go all guns blazing. It’s up to the player.

Jydge his said to have over a billion different configurations concerning mods, companions, cybernetics and items. Now that’s a ridiculously large range of options. Let’s hope that’s the truth though. So many options to serve justice with like: rockets, electricity, fire lead, lasers and more. Don’t forget to collect medals and unlock new equipment to test your abilities, situation solving skills and get more options. Oh in case you haven’t guessed yet, the environments are very destructible.

Jydge does sort of reminds us of smash TV that old game which was a top down shooter with many ways to die. Best of all Judge has local co-op which means you can call in a squad of your own to help you demolish the place faster and solve any situation. The level of destruction will be crazy. We respect any game that has local co-op.

Overall this game seems quite cool. The graphics are good, the sounds are good too. The level designs are great though. The developers, ’10tons’ did well with this game. This game might be worth checking out. Justice is important but certainly not as important… as the ‘Earth Walk!’
