Base Camp in Metal Gear Survive

X35 Earthwalker have played Metal Gear Survive for a good long while now. It was developed by Konami. Once again many critics have wrote this game off as bad but those critics and even you tubers like Angry Joe do not know what they are talking about. All just jumping on the hate train for views and followers. It’s lame. For starters when we watched some of Angry Joe’s gameplay we saw that he wasn’t very good at the game at all. He didn’t keep his characters food and drink at 100% which is linked to another complain he made, which was that our character gets tired too easily. Our maximum stamina is directly connected to our thirst (in the game). If your drink is 40% then we only have 40% of our maximum stamina and when you are in the dust which triples the amount of stamina consumption, off course your character will get tired quick. So a part of Angry Joe hating the game is due to him being bad at the game and not understanding that it is a survival. We at X35 Earthwalker will provide our own opinion and views of Metal Gears Survive. It’s an awesome game but certainly has some flaws. Let’s take a look.

The story was interesting and twists and unexpected stuff was thrown in more than once. We will be giving some spoilers right now. For example finding out who Goodluck really was, that the Lord of Dust couldn’t naturally be destroyed and that Seth was a actually dust monster, super wanderer etc. Now some stuff was predictable like how it’s obvious the characters wouldn’t escape rite when the lord of dust first showed up to the base and that they will all stay behind to help defeat the lord of dust instead of leave and that Virgil would survive. The story wasn’t anything major, nor did it trigger any emotions either. The story was just good and interesting… that’s all.

Let’s start with the flaws of Metal Gear Survive. Having players suffer from drinking dirty water wasn’t fun in the slightest. There is a chance that your character could get infected and would require medical aid. Now we get the whole point of this as it’s survival and when worse comes to worse you may have to drink dirty water to SURVIVE. It’s a survival game after all. When you do get the means to get food and clean water, survival becomes incredibly easy in terms of food and water. What they should have done was require that players find a hanging pot or get a certain material for it, instead of only being able to craft one when the game says so, as that doesn’t make sense. If I have iron or steel, why can’t I make a pot when I can make a rifle? Again it doesn’t make sense. Some players are unfortunate to get infected frequently and soon run out of medical supplies to cure the infection while X35 Earthwalker rarely got infected.

We felt that there isn’t much need for a use in Metal Gear Survive. Initially we thought that at times we will be alerted that a random wanders attack would happen on our base in which we had to make it back and defend. so we built up the base with fences and obstacles but no. Our base only gets attacked once (excluding using the worm hole digger for collecting energy). That one attack also seems like something we could have handled without fences by the way. Defending the base should have been made more important. Also, why does crunching and going prone drains our stamina but jogging doesn’t? Off course in Rea life it costs energy to move while crouching but shouldn’t jogging be more taxing. We know… video games… fiction… balancing etc.

What’s frustrating is that it’s so easy to get a negative condition from combat. Too often we got internal bleeding or bruises or cuts etc from just one hit from an enemy. If we don’t get a negative condition after being hit, we consider that very fortunate. That’s how bad it got. nothing worse then getting hit and need to cure yourself at the start of a wave. It should be less likely to get an injury like that from one slap. The game requires so much from your exploration team. They need quite a lot before they are a high enough grade to even get materials worth getting. You should be able to get better materials more easily and in a greater amount since it costs supplies and gear to supply the exploration team. Also as you explore Dite you will mostly find lower tier materials and instead of rare materials even if you completed the game. Some items, gears and weapons are too costly to repair. Forcing players to use their weaker weapons to preserve the stronger ones. The cost should be less and allow players to freely use their strong and rarer weapons.

Harvesting materials and energy from dead enemies and animals takes far too long and ruin the pacing of the game. There was a time where X35 Earthwalker killed like 25 wanderers and left like 14 of them because it took far too long to harvest them all. It made everything boring. It meeds to be faster. What’s very disappointing is that it takes far too long to unlock the other classes: Assault, Jaeger, Medic and Scout. We unlock them after completing the game which is far too late. Also it costs far too much energy to upgrade and unlock new skills. So you never really get to enjoy the new classes and the abilities. It should be made easier. After you complete the game there isn’t much stuff to do in the single player. All there is just containers washing up, places to mine for energy and strong kuban presence. There isn’t even that people to rescue anymore. After some days we still haven’t seen much change which is disappointing.

Metal Gear Survive updates

Now Metal Gear Survive has got a lot of good points as well. First of all the developers have done some work on the game in terms of updates, fixing some bugs and stuff. That’s great and we hope they do more as more end game activities are needed in this game.

We love that this game has a lot of things to craft. There are many gears, weapons and items for players to discover and build themselves. As you go through the game rarer and improved versions of the current weapons become available to craft. For example the simple pipe is what we start with but you can get the combat spear which is superior and more durability. Eventually some real crazy items like a frost blade and a hammer that looks like something Optimus prime would use. That’s creative and we like that.

Metal Gear Survive sets a good level of difficulty in the survival. From the start the game leaves players to find water and food. If that wasn’t enough players must be aware of how much oxygen they have when in the dust (which is 90% of the world). The dust also triples the consumption of stamina as well. Players will also need kuban energy. The player will also need medical supplies to heal infection or bleedings and more. Not only that but rest is a factor as well which without can lead to fatigue. There is multiple ways to die in Metal Gear Survive and the difficulty is fair. Players that are forget certain factors our lack supplies will suffer in this game. That was done well.

The difficulty in the missions really escalate as you progress through the game. The first ones are simply going next door to get an item from here while later you need to travel a good distance in the dust, traverse a abandon building and it’s undergrounds, go past enemies, get the item and then get back out before you run out of oxygen which isn’t as easy as some will think. It it weren’t for the ability to add oxygen through kuban energy then most players would have died long time ago. It would be brutal. Then missions get so big that they need that oxygen station that can be crafted to get enough oxygen to survive as there isn’t enough oxygen to return back to base (there isn’t). We like how difficult and how the difficulty escalates.

Being able to create our own character is a good touch, there is a good amount of options and details there. Honestly there should be a bit more but with what we have, X35 Earthwalker made his own unique character “Chelsea” and he’s happy with it. We have seen some characters and quite a number of them look cool but some do look quite similar in many cases but even so the fact that we have a character creation is very nice and what we can create is good.

This is small but the ability to change the background music is a great touch. We have found hidden Solid Snake boxes around the game and unlocked some awesome music which we can now have playing as we move around, craft and harvest in the base. It makes the base far more lively.

Even though the extra classes came much later, they are awesome. The Jaeger takes shooting to another level. The Assault makes melee combat a breeze. The medic makes it really difficult for some to die. The Scout moves effortlessly though the lands and buffs defences. When you unlock them and can see the different abilities that each class contains, you automatically get excited as to what these could do, on top of what you already have. The extra classes are a great idea.

Two more things. We love that there are boss enemies in the game. We found a large half dragon like creature which can fling debris and charge you down. It killed X35 Earthwalker in two hits after a long battle. We have yet to encounter another boss too but the fact that these powerful guys, who can take multiple grenades, can show up reminds players that they aren’t at the top yet. What’s hilarious is that you can sprint towards animals and punch them over to make capturing them much easier. All this time man was wrong by sneaking up on them through bushes when all this time what we needed to do was run up to them and give one big punch. That was hilarious.

Overall the game is awesome. An awesome game with a flaws. No it isn’t a traditional Metal Gear game. No there isn’t any solid Snake but Metal Gear Survive is it’s own a thing. A spin off that goes in a completely different direction. It’s like Minecraft plus Ark survival evolved plus Sims. It has quite a lot in there for players and we are glad we got the game. great graphics and sounds, different enemies, lots to craft. End game does need some help though but as you play through there is lots to do. Now Metal Gear Survive may be awesome but it’s no where as awesome as… the ‘Earth Walk!’

Deep Ones

Deep Ones is an action arcade style platformer developed by ‘Burp! Games’. Deep Ones is coming out on 11th of April for Xbox One and 28th of April for Nintendo Switch but already out on PC. Don’t expect fancy graphics here it’s all suppose to be retro looking. Let’s take a look.

The story of Deep Ones is that the main character, who looks like a deep sea diver from Scooby doo, was in a his submarine but had a crash. Why? because of some giant red Octopus who has issues. Basically it has a need to just destroy every traveller that he comes across. Our character Diver, it’s just some tourist or simple traveller. He goes out to traverse the bottom of the ocean. Enter the darkest parts of the ocean and cut his way through the dreaded… sea weed that is in his path.

Now off course it ain’t that simple. Diver will have to face the monsters of the unknown… monsters of the deep in order to get his submarine back. So what the red octopus left it intact or something? The game does encourage you to take in the sights as there are some landscapes that are worth viewing (we will be the judge of that). Not only that, but there are some others down there who can become trustworthy allies to aid you in your survival and have stories of their own to share with the player.

Deep Ones

Deep Ones is said to have a philosophical storyline so expect some thinking to take place. Like why does the ocean have too have water and why are their creatures in the deep? It really makes you think (not really). maybe that’s also why it’s called Deep Ones… because it’s real deep. If you couldn’t tell, the visual presentation of the game has been inspired by the ZX Spectrum. That explains the colours and lines etc. Pretty cool. We at X35 Earthwalker do like how it is presented.

The last thing but most likely the most unique and cool thing about Deep Ones is the fact that it’s said to have multi-genre parts. So basically the game is mainly platformer yes but there will be parts in the game where things get mixed up and other genres get introduced. There will be a part where you will not be on foot but riding an animal and firing like a chase, then there will be a moment where the game will be like a shoot em up for example. This honestly sounds cool so let’s hope that was executed well.

We checked out some gameplay and it looks like a retro styled action platformer. It’s off course nothing special or amazing but it does look like it’s made well and it’s doing it’s own thing. There are many enemies that all have their own behaviour and attack patterns. You can use a harpoon like gun and there is a even a sword for melee combat. Expect boss enemies as well which have predictable patterns but that was how the old games use to be like. Get the pattern and then exploit it. Nothing wrong here so far.

Deep Ones

Overall Deep Ones sounds like a good game. According to the reviews we have seen, most say that it is good and has been recommended as well. The controls are said to be sort of bad but that’s probably difficult controls to replicate some of the games of the old times. Who knows. The graphics are nice but the music stands out much more. The developers ‘Burp! Games’ did a great job with this game. We at X35 Earthwalker aren’t interested but we do suggest that gamers take a look at it for themselves. Now a giant red octopus is bad, but it ain’t good enough for… the ‘Earth Walk!’

Tera. Giant crab fight

Tera is a new action fantasy MMORPG developed by ‘Bluehole‘. Tera is coming out the 3rd of April on the Xbox One and PS4 but already out on PC. This MMORPG has gotten a lot of good reviews and comments. Let’s take a look.

Now Tera is another MMORPG. So some gamers will wonder why they should care. There is world of warcraft, Guild wars and more like Skyforge. Tera claims to have one huge advantage which is the fact that they have actual true combat action. The other MMORPG you click and send your characters over there and activate your attacks and abilities when you want and they are carried out. In Tera, you actually have full control of your character and can time attacks, aim and dodge. Skyforge does this as well except for the aim part to some extent. Developers say that the combat system is tactical and rewarding. We hope so.

Tera itself is free to play which makes gamers smile. It’s expansive content is also free to play. Some smiles have gotten bigger. No matter what level you are and how far you get. That remains free. Tera is all about having your character stand out from others. First of all there are seven distinct races to pick from, ten character classes which all do their own thing, lots and lots of hair styles and facial features which hope are actually recognisable. The customisation gets deeper as players can cover their characters armour with full body costumes, add exotic accessories, and even dye your armour with a large assortment of colours. So it’s pretty hard for players to have the exact same look as others. Kind of like with Halo 5 Guardians, after all those times of playing X35 Earthwalker never encountered a spartan with the exact same look. A good step for Tera.

Tera

Now what would a MMORPG be without some giant bosses and enemies to take down, especially those that require a team to stand a chance. Well Tera has dangerous dungeons containing such monsters. Players can expect such foes like the the Vulcan, Teralith, Argon Guardian, Frost Giant and Red Kumas. But wait… there’s more… Tera has PvP allowing players to decide who is better as a player through combat. There are also open-world hunting zones which let’s just say can get sort of crazy at times. After all large bosses are always exciting especially when they look so dangerous and at times down right scary.

Now this game is also suppose to be very large too. There are thousands of quests in Tera. Now this world is full of lore and history so players who love to gathering everything and get real deep into the story of the game and it’s in game universe will have quite a lot to do. Quite a variety of landscapes in this world too like jungles, deserts and tundras. Off course there are much more so get exploring. A variety of paces has more appeal to us at X35 Earthwalker than just a large game and area.

Tera

Now more important than all of that would be the character classes so then players eventually can debate over which class is the best. The Archer class, is all about tactics and have arrows for everything from armour piercing, magical spider webs to explosives. Actually sounds better than the archers in Skyforge. Berserkers are all about offence, with good defences, heavy armour, the ability to reduce damage. Lancers are all about the spotlight in combat as they absorb all the damage for their team while dishing out pain of their own to many. Mystics are all mystical (obviously). They can summon thralls, place curses on their foes and best of all heal their allies. Priests can resurrect fallen allies, cure and grant buffs to them too and also have some fire power to go with it. Slayers are all about being wild with their large swords in their enemies faces. They have all the mobility  and some high damage capabilities. Warriors are more tactical and have more evasion than slayers but don’t lack attack power at all.

Powerful sword wielders who dive head first into a fight. Sorcerers have quite the selection of long range elemental attacks and with their versatility, they could handle pretty much any situation. Reapers can be used when you have a class that level 40 or above. reapers use chain blades to viciously damage enemies, zoom round the field and even absorb health. Gunners are all about da base… we mean fire power as they wield powerful weapons and have abilities to keep them away from the enemies and danger. The point is to shoot and never stop shooting. Brawlers don’t care about danger, they just get in the enemies face and get physical with their power fists, dealing heavy damage, blocking heavy damage and sending everything flying. Ninjas are all about hit and run. Using shrikes to deal heavy damage at all ranges and even use their chi to produce flame attacks. There are some more classes like the Valkyrie but that’s for gamers to learn for themselves.

Tera

Now off course Tera is free to play meaning that the developers don’t make any money from this. At the end of the day game designing is also a business and they need to make money so how they do it is by offering content in the in-game stores. So you can support the developers by buying costumes, mounts, accessories, account services, weapon skins and more. We at X35 Earthwalker make it clear how we feel about this. If you want to buy something and you have the spare cash the why not but if it’s a free to pay game then players should be willing to help out as games take a lot of time, effort and work to build and they can’t produce more or keep things going with cash. So keep that in mind, especially if they build a good game that you enjoy.

We checked out some gameplay and we can say that it is definitely action combat indeed. Faster pace than Skyforge though. Classes like the ninja class really shine here with multiple dodges, evasion, jumping attacks and lots of animations with their moves which is great to see here. The graphics and visuals are excellent here better than the other MMORPG’s we have seen. The environments and the many but different enemies just going around minding their business make the worlds interesting. The entrance of boss battles, seeing other NPCs helping out in combat and actually not being so useless does give Tera some advantages over others.

Overall Tera is looking real good and might even get X35 Earthwalker’s attention himself. Matter of fact this may take us away from Skyforge if it holds up and has a lot to offer. We will see. What we see are a lot of enemies, areas, character options and more going around making this a real MMORPG. The developers ‘Bluehole’ did a fantastic job with this game. We at X35 Earthwalker look forward to seeing this game arrive on Xbox Oe so that we can see more and give it a try. Even if you have 10 warriors each a different class they still wouldn’t stand a chance against… the ‘Earth Walk!’

Warhammer 40000: Inquisitor - Martyr

Warhammer 40000: Inquisitor – Martyr is a new open-world sandbox action RPG developed by ‘NeocoreGames‘. It is coming out the 11th of May on the Xbox One, Play Station 4 and PC. The Inquisitor sounds like a dangerously powerful being. Le’s take a look.

The world of Warhammer 4000 is very big with a huge story going on but Warhammer 40000: Inquisitor – Martyr is the first action RPG in the world of Warhammer 40000. Now the focus in this story is all about the Inquisitors. They are up against mutants, dangerous Xenos, heretics and off course the daemons of the chaos gods. Now that’s a list and sounds too much but what kind of being is the Inquisitor? Inquisitors are monsters themselves in terms of legend and threat. They are powerful legendary secret agents of the Imperium. They come from different backgrounds and aren’t the same as each one has different areas where they specialise. Inquisitors have lots of big lots of firepower and with a wide range of unique skills. Simply they aren’t a joke.

Now Warhammer 40000: Inquisitor – Martyr is set in the Caligari Sector, a secluded region of the Imperium with many star systems, even more planets which contain a wide variety of mission types for players. The maps are randomly generated. This game aims to keep things going and rolling with the action. there are also mini campaigns and it has been said on their official website that the storyline was influenced by the community which is actually awesome. It’s great when developers get their community, fans and followers involved with the development in some way or form. So good job ‘NeocoreGames’ on that one.

Warhammer 40000: Inquisitor - Martyr

Even though the direction is quite different Warhammer 40000: Inquisitor – Martyr are not letting go of what it does well and does in other titles. For example this game will still have tactical elements meaning this shouldn’t be a walk in the park. Cover based combat is still here and definitely needed for survival. There are controllable vehicles just please make sure you guys have license because we at X35 Earthwalker are not afraid to sue. They claim to have a brand new AI. Probably coolest of them all is the fact that some attacks affect the environment and your surroundings as in break and blow stuff up. This off course adds a layer to the tactical side of the game as now some cover may get destroyed or additional ways to expose and turn the tide against enemies. Think about that.

Now what’s Warhammer 40000 without some blood and gore? Nothing. So it’s a good thing that Warhammer 40000: Inquisitor – Martyr has some. Not only can you enjoy brutalising your foes but large enemies are unfortunate enough to be susceptible to having their limbs destroyed if targeted well. So if their right arm has a large rocket launcher for example, then blow their arm of and no more rockets. Also this can lead to special executions of those foes which the developers have said are rewarding.

Warhammer 40000: Inquisitor - Martyr

Now Warhammer 40000: Inquisitor – Martyr isn’t all single player campaign. The Inquisitorial campaign has co-operative gameplay up to 4 players. Also players can join various Inquisitorial clans. So grab your friends build a clan and just dominate. There are world events for all to participate in and missions that if completed could have actually effects on the game it self, as in influencing the direction of the whole sector. We hear this sort of stuff quite a lot so we are going to see how Warhammer 40000: Inquisitor – Martyr will pull this off.

We checked out some gameplay and so far the game doesn’t look impressive. The sounds and graphics are good indeed but the gameplay just looks simple as of how it is right now. It currently looks like everything is too easy. Off course that should change with a higher difficulty. We do like the variety of enemies here, with some being fast while others are melee only stuff like that. The environments and the amount of cover available are great reminding us of Gears of war in some ways. There are many abilities at your disposal and multiple ways to handle situations. The game seems to run well and does have the tactical elements to it. Different classes to choose from and use with their own strengths and weaknesses. We at X35 Eathwalker just hope to see something very exciting and cool.

Overall Warhammer 40000: Inquisitor – Martyr is a very good game. It is a big with multiple things going on with some nice level designs and giving different experiences thanks to the random maps. Action is lively ad we do like what we see. Some fans are happy and even some of their suggestions have been taken on board and put into effect. The developers ‘NeocoreGames’ did an excellent job with this game. We at X35 Earthwalker need to see more, something that will make us think about even buying it but as it stands many will like it. Now Warhammer 40000: Inquisitor – Martyr may have inquisitors but they don’t compare to… the ‘Earth Walk!’

Hellblade Senua's Sacrifice

Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice is a third person hack and slash adventure game developed by ‘Ninja Theory‘. It’s coming out on the Xbox One the 11th of April but already out on PS4 and PC. This game has been given good reviews. Let’s take a look.

Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice is set in the viking times which off course means norse mythology. It’s about a celtic warrior named Senua, who begins a quest and not just any quest for this one mainly takes place in her mind. The players get to dive in also. What’s Senua’s aim? She is fighting for the soul of her dead lover. Basically entering viking hell. So like Dante’s Inferno but not as cool.

Hellblade Senua's Sacrifice

Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice also features three modes on the Xbox One X. To make things simple: The High Framerate keeps frame rates at 60 frames per second, High resolution mode will off course make resolution a priority while Enhanced visuals will boost the graphical and effects. More information concerning the three modes will come closer to release date.

The game is more than just a game as the developers wanted to tackle the issue of psychosis. The main character, Senua, suffers from it and it does add that extra layer of deepness to the game. Matter of fact their website has a help section that allows people who deal with psychosis to find help in their area which is very thoughtful and we at X35 Earthwalker like that very much.

The game has received mostly good reviews and Xbox gamers can get 10% off on the Microsoft store until the end of it’s launch week. The cost we believe is £25 ($30).

We checked out some gameplay and it does look interesting. It’s definitely more psychological. The combat isn’t as heavy and it’s said to be a more linear experience. What’s really cool is that your character hears voices that are in her head but with the right settings and head set it almost sound like it’s in your head as well. The graphics are great and with the Xbox One X it can only get better. Sounds are great but the voices are much better. Professionally recorded.

Overall Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice is a good game. It’s interesting and got some messages in there for gamers to take note of but we find it too much mind action and less of combat. it’s quite basic at times. The puzzles can get annoying. It’s not really our kind of game. The developers ‘Ninja Theory’ did a great job with Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice. Now Senua is basically messed up and the only thing that can truly help is… the ‘Earth Walk!’

Jurassic World Evolution

Jurassic World Evolution is a new strategy simulation game developed by ‘Frontier‘. It is coming out the 12th of June on the Xbox One, PS4 and PC. Pretty much everyone with a TV know what Jurassic Park is. Well this game is meant to keep it going. Let’s take a look.

Jurassic World Evolution put players in charge of their own Jurassic world. That’s basically it and the story. Players get to create and manage their own world. Remember Jeff Goldblum? We honestly didn’t but the Jurassic park star will be the one advising players through the game and providing useful information which is actually awesome. Getting a Jurassic Park actor for the game.

So in your own Jurassic World build everything like research facilities and attractions. Players will be completely in control of not only their dinosaur theme park but all operations also the whole island, but also the surrounding isles as well. That’s right. It’s more than a simple building stuff game. There are many things to manage and take into account when building. Keeping everything in check and even handling the dinosaur breeding. With your technology grow new dinosaurs, get your researchers out to dig sites and discover and unearth fossils.

Jurassic World Evolution

The developers have confirmed players can run multiple parks. It’s like a business, when one park is doing well, why not branch out and have multiple. If all goes well then that’s more money for you; but also like business their is some risk to that. If one thing goes wrong, you then have to fix it which will require players to be observant and problem solving but then you make lose track of something in another park and if control is lost, players will see all their parks sparking chaos everywhere. How? Well what if a Tyrannosaurus Rex got loose and started to snack on your customers? Well… do something about it!

The developers want players to feel the pressure when they finally realise that something small goes wrong. For example leaving out essential facilities that customers and visitors are going to need will negatively affect your theme park. Major issues, like a fence that keeps dinosaurs in, broke down then well it’s Jurassic park all over again. The issue may be that a roller coaster breaks down and that off course will require lots of money and time to repair and handle but do you have the money and time? Stuff like this will turn the sweat factor up for players when handling their theme park

Overall from what we know, as not much information is given, is that Jurassic World Evolution is definitely for a certain audience for people. Some have described this Jurassic World Evolution as Jurassic world combined with ‘Rollercoaster Tycoon‘. This should explain a lot about this game. There is so far nothing about this game that interests us at X35 Earthwalker. The developers ‘Frontier’ are making an interesting direction with their game. We at X35 Earthwalker will not be looking forward to this game but we know there are some gamers who will. Now Jurassic World Evolution has many dinosaurs but not even those old creatures are enough to stop… the ‘Earth Walk!’

Dark Souls: Remastered is the improved version of Dark souls (what else could it be?) and is being developed by ‘Bandai Namco’. It’s coming out the 25th of May on the Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PS4, PC. Let’s take a look.

Dark souls is one of those games that some gamers may have some bad memories off. Let’s take a look. That’s right. Dark Souls is back but completely remastered. Graphics, sounds, designs everything. 60 frames per second and all. Now this remastered not only contains the main game but also the Artorias of the Abyss DLC. So do players have what it takes to return to Lordran?

Dark Souls Remastered

Honestly there isn’t that much to say about this as it’s pretty much self explanatory. We can confirm though that players need to complete the game more than once as each play through will bring new challenges.

We checked out some gameplay and there are lots of different weapons, armour, magic and crafting options allowing for many different combinations. Graphics, monsters, environment, everything is drastically improved.

Overall it’s like we said earlier, it’s a remastered version of a game. That’s pretty much it. Not even the official website has that much information on it and the trailer really keeps things limited. The developers ‘Bandai Namco’ did a nice job with this game. We at X35 Earthwalker are not looking forward to this game. Now fighting monsters is one thing but it can’t compare to… the ‘Earth Walk!’

Conan Exiled

Conan Exiles is a new open world survival game developed by ‘Funcom‘. It’s coming out the 8th of May on the Xbox One, PS4 and PC. A number of eyes are on this survival game. Let’s take a look.

Now many have grown up hearing about Conan the destroyer, whether the character or film. It was quite an interesting world with it’s creatures, people, magical abilities and items. Now here is Conan Exiles. This open world survival takes place in a barbaric wasteland. Sp straight away we know survival is going to be a problem because wastelands tend to not have much around. In this game players control their own character in an attempt to survive, fight and build in this deadly world. So to some extent this is like Minecraft but more brutal.

Now this wasteland isn’t empty. There are many secrets dark ones and many ancient ruins of ancient civilisations. This world is in fact quite rich with many things to do and explore. You start with literally nothing but the end game is the exact opposite. Players could end up with large fortresses and literal cities. Yes, character progress in Conan Exiles goes that far. This game is actually quite merciless. The stuff you do here are truly barbaric. For starters you can torture bandits (and other bad guys) until they submit and become your slave by tying them to the wheel of pain. You can even sacrifice the still beating hearts of your enemies to your god on very dirty and bloody altars (about as pagan as it gets). This is some dark stuff but in the fictional world of gaming… we like it.

Conan Exiled

Charge into full on wars, battle monsters and dangerous creatures alike, harvest materials and gear up to traverse the barbaric wastelands. Survival here isn’t just simply eating and drinking. Nope. There are dangerous weather conditions to deal with like a scouring sandstorms. Conan Exiles has some real secrets going on and one them is a serious problem. Players must protect their characters minds from being corrupted which will lead to insanity. If you want epic though then check this out… you can summon the avatar of your characters god and watch them completely destroy your enemies before you. Now that’s incredibly scary.

Everything is explorable from those ancient looking runes all the way to the sand dunes over there (pay attention). While exploring, do not forget to harvest materials which can be used for crafting weapons, items and more like armour, clothes and equipment . Use those materials also for the building of your home, then camp, them, base, then fortress, then kingdom. Some ruins are more dark and scary than others, that’s probably because they hold secrets to what happened to the civilisations before you, what lead to their end and more dark secrets and good knowledge. Oh and those gods we mentioned earlier that you can summon… yeah we can control them directly!

Conan Exiled

Those bad guys that you can capture and torture aren’t just for entertainment. You can put them to hard work. Get them to be your army for when you attack other places or you can make their job crafting and other useful stuff. The battles are serious business. You can destroy the place and actually see structures crumble due to explosive or great force. The developers claim that we can see heads rolling and limbs flying which would be real cool actually. We hope they pull it off well. Conan Exiles is also  has the option of multiplayer. You can play alone locally if you want or take the survival to another level dealing with real players in the same server or like Minecraft have your own world and invite some friends over where you have complete control and so can stop people from stealing from you.

We checked out some gameplay and we can say that Conan Exiles is looking real awesome. You can hunt normal animals like elephants for ivory (poor creatures) as an example but there are some things out there that can only be killed in specific ways like silver arrows or weapons. Some you must hunt alone in the dark, at night. That’s cool. This game definitely reminds us of ARK: Survival Evolved. So what do you do if your on a online server and another player summons and sends a god avatar after your base? Well… the short answer is run for your life (women and children last!).

Overall this sounds like an epic game. The graphics are very good. The sounds and effects like lighting for caves and ruins is excellent. The avatar of gods are massive and powerful but leave the summoner vulnerable which gives players defending hope and a chance to end it. Weapons come in variety and purposes. Battles are fast and strategic. There is a lot going for this game and it has caught our attention. The developers ‘Funcom’ did a fantastic job with this game. We at X35 Earthwalker are looking forward to Conan Exiles. A avatar of a god may be huge but it still isn’t big enough for… the ‘Earth Walk!’

Pac-Man Championship Edition 2

Pac-Man Championship Edition 2 was developed by Konami is one of those games that we at X35 Earthwalker love. After all it is Pac-Man and that’s almost about as classic as it gets. A simple game where you eat dots and avoid ghosts. So what has Pac-Man Championship Edition 2 done? Let’s take a look.

Pac-Man Championship Edition 2 is fun and something for the family and friends to enjoy but that doesn’t mean this game is a joke. In fact this game can actually be very difficult. It’s the truth. If you are playing to just beat the levels and get a nice score then that’s all good. If you want a real challenge then… well we will get to that later. From the start you have to complete the tutorial. This is important as Pac-Man Championship Edition 2 is quite different in terms of gameplay. Through the tutorial you will learn that there is a path formed by the dots to follow instead of just random eating which when followed will most of the time minimise the amount of encounters you have with the ghosts and complete each level faster. You will also learn that there are ghost minions, ghost trains and even moving fruits and power pellets. It truly does prepare you for what you will face but the only negative here is that you are forced to play the tutorial in order to unlock the rest of the game which is annoying. Gamers should be given the choice to skip tutorial if we want.

Pac-Man Championship Edition 2

Score attack comes next and it’s all about getting the best score you can possibly get. The scores are ranked from ‘E’ to ‘S’. By the way if you get an ‘E’ rank then put down the controller and never pick it back up again. There are multiple levels with different structure designs and focuses. Each level has four modes to get a high score on: Single Train, Regular, Extreme and practice. In Single train you only have to deal with one coloured in ghost who’s ghost train alone grows when you wake up minions. It’s the only train you can score on and the other main character ghosts move around and their only threat is that they get in the way because they can’t be knocked completely out of the way like the minions. Players could end up being slowed down considerably because they had to continuously bump a ghost all the way out of their path in a straight line which is the most frustrating thing in the whole game. In regular it’s all the same except that you have to deal with all four ghosts coloured in and have their own trains which means four trains for players to chase down after getting the power pellet. Extreme mode is deadly. Ghosts get angered after one touch and act just like in the original Pac-Man as in Blinky (red) will chase you down, Pinky (pink) tries to cut you off and trap you, Inky (blue) at times chases, other times cuts you off and Clyde (orange) does whatever he wants. Also Extreme always have moving fruits and dots and grants no extra lives. Practice is the easiest and just there for casual fun really.

In Pac-Man Championship Edition 2, Score attack is also where the difficulty really shows. If you are one of those crazy gamers who want to prove that you are above other Pac-Man players then the only way is to get the ‘S’ rank. S rank forces players to make very little to no mistakes in order to get it. If you die once, chances are you won’t get the S. If you miss an extra life, chances are you won’t get the S. If you take too long with the ghost trains, chances are you won’\t get the S either. So to get the S, make sure to find and follow the path that the dots make, wake up all the minions keep bomb jumping to a minimum catch ghost train really fast by predicting where they are going, and know when to get the fruit early or not. Some levels will never give you the S if you follow the whole path of dots then get the fruit. There are times when you have to leave the level early to save yourself some time. One of our best tips from X35 Earthwalker is that when attempting the S rank finish the level and take a good look at the graphs and numbers displayed at the end as it can help you realise what you need to focus on more. For example maybe you have enough time but need more dots to be eaten or maybe you need more time and just need to get one more ghost train. Find out. X35 Earthwalker himself has already gotten S ranks for all single train levels and even ranked within the top 50 of Pac-man players for some levels. Getting the S rank can be so brutal at times attempting multiple times and each time seeing that you are off by a couple of thousand points. Frustration.

Pac-Man Championship Edition 2

We believe it is easier to get the S rank in Regular mode but it’s not that much easier. It still takes  a lot out of gamers. The next game type to unlock is Adventure. Here players will take on a series of challenges like eat 6 fruits. Sounds easy but everything has to be done within a time limit. Now if you play in the hardest difficulty like we did then the time you have is really cutting it close at times. It gets worse as some levels in between end with a power pellet meaning you must chase and eat ghost trains and then reach the fruit within those short times and if you have played Score attack then you know how dodgy things can get with them. Depending on how well you complete a level you get stars with full completion giving you three stars, kind of like Gears of war Judgement with how you can only get four stars by completing the Onyx missions which are considerably harder. If you have enough stars then you can challenge the boss. Boss battles feels like the easiest part of the game which is a shame. The boss just stays in the background and only chomps down on stages if you move on to the next one or you run out of time. The boss can chomp in the back ground to make all ghosts present, very angry meaning they can take you out. After getting all the fruits to move forwards you will eventually reach the even more super, super pellet which allows you to take a bit out of the huge ghost boss and defeat it once and for all (hopefully). The boss fights should be more exciting if you ask us and more things thrown in their instead of the usual chase fruits and avoid ghost but hey it’s still fun.

Pac-Man Championship Edition 2 has a lot of features and options. Before the start of each level players can choose what character design they want the ghosts and Pac-Man to be. They can choose what stage style they want as in how the walls and colours and design looks. We do like the design that the spiral level had. You can choose what background you want, whether it’s strobe lights, a hexagon. rings or even pitch black it’s up to us. Lastly we can pick the music and we must say that the music is one of the best things about this game. Lots of music and all have quite  the beat. Have a party while playing Pac-Man, especially when you use the ‘Jump Pac-Man’ song. The graphics and design are excellent. it makes Pac-Man Championship Edition 2 look ahead off it’s time. Beautiful game with awesome music. There are times when the beat will help you stay in rhythm and the path of the dots. This is something you have to try for yourself.

Our only real complaint about Pac-Man Championship Edition 2 is that especially on Regular Score attack levels the ghost trains at times come off the paths that they are suppose to follow. We remember completely cutting a ghost off and was guaranteed to eat it when all of a sudden it just came completely off track and doubled back on it’s self which completely threw us off and ruined our time. X35 Earthwalker would have ranked much higher if it weren’t for that. The game even says that they follow the paths so then why is it coming of the path? That’s just cheating! It actually gets to us. So the top three most annoying, frustrating things in Pac-Man Championship Edition 2 are:

  1. Having a ghost get in your way and refuses to move, blocking and slowing you down running your chances of getting the S rank
  2. When the ghost trains come of the paths making you miss and waste time
  3.  Taking so long to get the ghost trains that they actually slow down for you to get them

So the game isn’t perfect but definitely near it though.

So overall Pac-Man Championship Edition 2 is an awesome game that’s for everyone. Casual modes for fun Pac-Man action but tougher harder modes for those who want a real challenge. This game is worth getting even now and having a go. you won’t be disappointed.

Sinner: Sacrifice for Redemption is a new action RPG developed by ‘Dark Star‘. It’s coming out the 18th of October 2018 on Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PS4 but later on the PC. Now this game has caught our attention and that means we just have to take a look.

The story in Sinner: Sacrifice for redemption is actually quite interesting. Basically players control Adam who has to face the incarnation of his greatest sins, all while making sacrifices to atone. Even worse Adam has lost his memories. It’s all about Adam trying to remember, understand and off course deal with his past. Now off course there is a bit more going on than just that as it’s only the central struggle…

Adam must also face 8 powerful bosses. Each demonic boss is off course stronger and more dangerous than the last but there is also a catch. Before each boss, players must decide which stat to decrease and level down! That’s right! You have to power down before each major boss clash. This alone raises some problems for players. What happens if you decide to reduce speed but the boss you are going to face requires speed and movement to beat him? We have a problem. Or what if a boss is about being hit real fast for that quick damage but you reduced strength? Oh Dear…

Sinner Sacrifice for redemption

Sinner: Sacrifice for redemption has had quite a number of inspirations. It’s said to be inspired by the Soul series, shadow of the colossus and some anime. Anything related to dark souls can only have one thing in common… being difficult. The soul games are about timing, knowing when to attack and then dodging those vicious attacks from enemies as just a few is all that’s needed to kill you. This should already cause some gamers to feel a bit uncomfortable.

Now what we do know about Sinner: Sacrifice for redemption. There are various weapons for players to get the hang of and master. Like with Monster Hunter: World these weapons have different ad antes which players must recognise and use whats best for each boss. There are some repayable features although we don’t know what they are. You can unlock new game modes, probably like boss rush or a amped up difficulty mode. Last of all we know that there are multiple endings which means, multiple play throughs and most likely decisions that players have to make. Almost like Dante’s inferno in a way.

We checked out some gameplay and this does remind us of Dark souls quite a lot. There are levels where you have to fight regular enemies, dodge powerful attacks and deal with crowds at some points as well. Then when you get to a boss things get much harder. The bosses are so different from each other and will force players to watch, learn, probably die and then hopefully triumph. We do know there is: Rose Paladin Rhodes, Healer Faiz Tilus and Countess Levin Undock. That’s only three of them though and all of them do look like a real problem.

Overall this game has interested us because for us it’s a combination of Dante’s Inferno and Dark souls. It’s going around the topic of sin but we can tell it’s not biblical so we won’t take it seriously. Combine that with the style of dark souls with some new concepts or the whole down grading thing just create quite a cool result. The graphics are nice, not excellent. The designs and environments are good indeed. The developers ‘Dark Star’ did a very good job with this. We at X35 Earthwalker are actually interested in this and will keep an eye out for this. Now some are fighting for redemption while we already have our sins paid for by Jesus. This game still ain’t on the level off… the ‘Earth Walk!’
