S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 is a new First Person Shooter and horror game developed and published by ‘GSC Game World‘. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 is said to be coming out on the Xbox Series X and PC. The release date has not been given but we’ve got clues. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is again one of those games we never heard off and didn’t care about. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 is looking big though. Let’s take a look.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 is big. Let’s just start off with that. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 has been described as an open world game. The developers specifically said, “The zone in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 is one of the biggest seamless open worlds to date.” This is. Abigails claim to match the size of the game. So expect loads of exploration, multiple locations, quests, discoveries and more.

The S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 story itself is suppose to be the heavy focus of the game. What we know about this game is that it’s trying that game technique where the players decisions make a difference. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 is said to feature a non linear story where the choices you make has both short consequences and effects outcomes on a global scale which would make sense as it’s an open world game. Many games try this and don’t do it well. Hopefully S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 developers learn from others failures and do better.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 is an Xbox console exclusive and has a certain green badge. You know what this means. “Games built using the Xbox Series X development kit are designed to take advantage of the unique capabilities of Xbox Series X. They will showcase unparalleled load-times, visuals, responsiveness and framerates up to 120FPS.” So expect top the highest levels of performance of the Xbox Series X.

There is a lot going on in 3. There is multiple endings. The story branches off. Players need to keep this in mind when going about objectives, completing the story and whatever side missions are available. Multiple endings off course mean replayability is here. Now will it be clear on how to get the different endings or not. We at X35 Earthwalker for the most part enjoy multiple endings as you get to see what you truly got when you do a blind run of the game.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 being open world there are many locations and quite a bit of mystery. We have seen what looks like facilities for experiments and growing creatures. There are large woods which must be risky to explore at night. There are underground sections which may require certain equipment to explore like masks for breathing. There are houses, wrecked structures and what looks like ruined civilisation.

We checked out S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 and saw some interesting things. There are mutants and anomalies. Some of these creatures just seem straight up supernatural and have big effect on the environment. One looked like an enemy from Skyforge, a water elemental being (we hate them). It was cool and you should keep your distance. Don’t get distracted as there are other threats around so put your gun to use. First person shooter and horror is a nice combination. The horror tends to be lacking. They need to make sure the horror is strong. If it’s horror then players should be afraid.

Overall S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 seems like a good game. It isn’t a special game nor has it made us want to play but S.T.A.L.K.E.R. has a good fan base and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 did get the attention of a number of gamers during the Xbox Showcase 2020 so the players will be there. Concerning the graphics they said “The trailer demonstrates the level of graphics and atmosphere we are aiming to achieve on release.” Well do your best guys. The developers ‘GSC Game World’ have done a good job. We at X35 Earthwalker will have to see what’s happening later. Now S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 may have horror in there but it’s never capable of scaring… the ‘Earth Walk!’

The Medium is a new horror game developed and published by ‘Bloober Team‘. The Medium is said to be coming out “Holiday 2020”. It’s an Xbox exclusive and it’s coming on the Xbox Series X and PC. The Medium aims to give a new meaning tithe word perspective here. We see what it is working but will it work? Let’s take a look.

The Medium is not just horror exactly but psychological horror. So expect the game to mess with your head and expect specific music. In the Medium players take control of a young lady, who is a medium by the way, who wants answers concerning the murder of a child. That same murder has been haunting you in visions. So you head to an abandoned hotel resort which is said to be the place where the event took place.

She isn’t ordinary. This medium is a fraud like mystic meg. This medium can have a perspective that one one else can have. She can travel between the natural and spiritual realm. Thanks to this ability she can see what others see too. In this world and with this ability, you’ll soon learn that everything has another side.

We checked out some The Medium gameplay. From what we have seen this is definitely going to be a psychological horror. There’s a lot of night time, at times silence, there’s also a lot of weird stuff in this game. Expect supernatural elements humanoid beings wearing masks and music. Yeah, a bit about the music. It has been declared that  The Medium has dual soundtrack Arkadiusz Reikowski from Bloober Team, and Akira Yamaoka, the composer guy for Silent Hill.

The Medium’s advantage is being optimised for the Xbox Series X which means it’s using the development kit to “take advantage of the unique capabilities of the Xbox Series X. They will showcase unparalleled load-times, visuals, responsiveness, and framerates up to 120FPS.”

Overall The Medium looks like it’s going to be a good game but we haven’t seen enough to make us think wow yet. We have seen and written about many psychological horror games. Off course excellent graphics and details are excellent too. The Medium needs more. Are there real enemies? We will have to see. The developers ‘Bloober Team’ has does an alright job so far. We like the idea of world jumping but we need more info. Now The Medium may have music and spiritual realm but none of that is match… the ‘Earth walk!’

Scorn is a new horror adventure game developed and published by ‘Ebb Software’. It is not clear when Scorn will be coming out. It is an xbox exclusive. It will come out on Xbox Series X and PC. The heavy themes here is horror and puzzles. Also, this is a weird game in case you couldn’t tell. Let’s take a look.

Scorn is set in a weird world. It’s been described as an open-ended world with different interconnected regions. That’s not the weird part but we will get to that. Each region is designed to be like a Maze. Various rooms and different paths. The weird part which you can tell just from looking is that this world is alive, literally and quite breathing. You see what looks like living organism entrails or whatever that grow along the walls like vines and plants. Some things bound to the wall are living things. Sort of like when the Gravemind from Halo with the flood takes over an area like the ship high charity. It becomes alive. Think of it like that.

There are no cutscenes Scorn. This means that everything concerning the story can be found and revealed in the game itself. So looking around and exploring is the responsibility of the player. Players have been given a warning though. The official website said, “the game won’t show you any sympathy if you miss something important on your uneasy travels”. This alone says quite a bit. This suggests that maybe Scorn can be beaten without doing everything but will result in a bad ending that doesn’t answer all your questions.

Now it’s clear that this game wants to gross players out. This whole design, the character, the beings are all creepy, gross, sticky looking, you see what we mean when you look at gameplay. The game wants players to be fully aware of their character’s body and movement whatever that means. The developers also want players to have a realistic experience. As in you need to use your hands to pick up things (instead of just floating), also machines and certain instruments require the player to grab the levers, controls etc.

Scorn isn’t some exploration game where you just walk and look around. There are threats in this world. Players will need to think things through and decide when to fight something and when to just hide. Not only that but we knew this game would also make your decisions have consequences as in effecting the world you’re in. You have an inventory to manage and it’s very limited space. So decide what you want and what you may need later etc.

We checked out some Scorn gameplay we can find and yep, there is definitely combat. We saw three different types of weapons which fire differently and all look alive-ish. They come apart and fleshy, with bits. They fire what looks like small pellets which through the organism gun makes deadly like a shotgun. Ammo must be very limited meaning players need to really decided whether to fight or not. The game looks icky and gross but very good. The visuals are very good and you know it’s improved from two years ago so must look better. The world is definitely alive, gross but very cool. It’s certainly atmospheric and we hope they pull of the horror well.Developers make sure not to forget terrifying enemies that you have to avoid.

Overall Scorn does look like a good game just a very weird one that not everyone will be into. They will look at the game and get turned off. Yet there will always be gamers who will want to play it. We like how different this game is from other games. We like the risk the developers took and the game visuals and style. The developers ‘Ebb Software’ have done a good job wit this game. We at X35 Earthwalker will keep an ear and eye open for Scorn and what they do. Now Scorn may be risky and different but what’s not risky and hasn’t changed is… the ‘Earth Walk!’

Those who remain is a new adventure horror game developed by ‘Camel 101‘ and published ‘Wired productions‘ and ‘WhisperGames‘. Those who remain is said to be coming out May 28th 2020 on the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. We heard it’s also coming to Nintendo Switch in 2020 but no exact date. We got more developers trying to make a actually scary horror game. We hope they do good. Let’s take a look.

Those who remain has a simple story but off course should get deeper. Basically you control a man named Edward who is taking life for granted. It’s said his life is very good with a nice wife and daughter. Yet he still does stupid things like have an affair and over drinking. He’s heading through the town of Dormant to end the affair he’s having, to fix his mistakes. He reached the golden oak motel and that’s where everything takes a hard turn.

Those who remain wouldn’t be a horror game if it’s just a conversation and things were sorted and you went home. Nope! Turns out that this town Dormant isn’t a simple normal American town. This town has been infected with darkness. Reality has been warped here, it’s a combination of what the citizens have done and the darkness. This town has been cursed by a demon. The people of the town can’t escape. What you have to do is survive this night. Remember it’s a journey though.

There’s two dimensions that are interconnected. Players will have to work through a strange alternate reality and Dormont. This is needed to solve puzzles and off course to reveal what’s really happening around here. Like with these psychological horror games you know there’s going to be decisions and moral conflict. You get the choice to reprieve or condemn the lost souls of Dormont. Edwards fate is in the players hands. There are moral choices to make. How much does it effect the story? We do’t know. Mechanics suggest that there is more than one ending.

We checked out Those who remain gameplay and it’s what we expected. Those who remain hasn’t made the same mistake that other horror games made. They actually have some enemies. There are some creatures/monsters moving about in the darkness. They will kill anyone that comes near. Your best weapon and friend is the light. Stay in it. Now in some ways it does remind us of Outlast in terms of walking around, exploring buildings and stealth elements too. You have to hide from some enemies. The enemies don’t look scary so far though. There’s one that has a spotlight for a face practically and it will expose you, so stay out of it’s sight.

Overall Those who remain so far for us is just another horror game. Doing things slightly different but we need more. Horror games like these all try and they should, it’s just we have high expectations. The environment does look great though. We like the motel, the messed up reality and that there’s actually enemies now. The developers have done an good job from what we have seen so far. We at X35 Earthwalker will have to see what else Those who remain has to offer. Now Those who remain may have curses, demons and darkness but none of these things can do anything against… the ‘Earth Walk!’

Catherine: Full Body is the puzzle horror-ish remake developed by ‘Atlus: Studio zero’. Catherine: Full body came out the 3rd of September 2019 on PlayStation 4. It was released earlier in Japan though. We definitely liked the Catherine games and want to talk about a couple things concerning the remake. Let’s take a look.

Let’s just go through these points as quickly as possible. First of all we didn’t get to play the game ourselves but saw the entire game. Now this isn’t just a remake as in a sense of just better graphics. There is new paths to the story, some changed and new dialogue, new scenes, a new character and just additional stuff.  They definitely kept the same style of visuals for both the gameplay and cinematic parts and that’s a good thing as they worked well in the original game. Things do seem smoother though when it comes to the cinematic. The additional cinematic scenes are primarily about the new character Rin (Qatherine). There’s more interaction between Vincent and his friends. Something you will need to see for yourself and the developers did good in these areas.

Let’s get straight into the gameplay. There is a new block altogether and we believe it’s called the Laser block. This block you only see in the very last extra levels of the game if you take the Rin path. These blocks literally just fire a laser which will kill you. Just wait for it to stop firing and then move by or whatever. Sadly they are the only new block and they could have added more. The next is the difficulty and we have a problem with this one. First of all we hate the idea of a very easy mode is embarrassing. X35 Earthwalker himself beat the original Catherine game with gold price for each level and beat all the Babel levels, easy difficulty is actually a complete joke. Yet very easy is unacceptable. If someone can’t beat your game they need to practice and use their heads. it’s a puzzle game after all. Then it gets worse as there’s a ‘safety mode’. WHAT!? Anyone who plays with that feature needs to put down the controller and back away from the game. You should be ashamed.

This is what Gematsu said concerning safety mode, “In Safety mode, you can use the ‘Skip Feature’ to skip stages you have not cleared with the press of a button, and solely enjoy the event scenes. For players who want to see the puzzles, both Safety and ‘Easy’ modes have an ‘Auto-Play’ feature where Vincent moves on his own during the action puzzle segments”. Well the best use of this would be to just see the cinematic scenes and get the different endings quickly AFTER you have already beaten the game. We don’t like the ides of a safety mode at all. Just take time and practice, you even have undo in normal mode so you could figure things out move by move if you need to.

Catherine: Full Body also a Remix mode which basically has “new mechanics and gimmicks”. For example you will see blocks that are all joined together and look like precious stones. They can be two blocks next to each other or even form a big shape etc. You have to move the whole thing as one big block, not separately. It does overall make the whole game easier but in less parts can really mess you up. Pull out a whole shape and end up hanging over the edge with no where to go. It’s a cool concept and we like the addition of remix mode to shake things up. Just play through once with remix and then another in classic mode. Also Catherine: Full body has better lighting with some places receiving some small changes. The stray Sheep is more lit for example. Some of the nightmare stages have less fog too.

Now we think Rin is a great edition to the game as she’s a very different person from both Katherine and Catherine. Players really can’t help but like Rin, she’s the happy, bubbly, optimistic person many wish they had as a friend. We would gladly have her as a friend but how they handled Vincent’s decision to be with Rin and his thought process is very bad. It doesn’t make any sense. Think about it imagine you are in a serious relationship with your girlfriend for 5 years (ladies you can reverse the situation to make it applicable to yourself). The choice of marriage is now a present thing and in your mind, she even told you that she is pregnant, don’t forget that you actually like your girlfriend and had such a romantic beginning. Would you then break up with her for someone you just met and have known for 5 days? Worse, that person has amnesia and remembers nothing of themself (they could be a terrorist undercover for all you know). Even worse, you thought that person was a woman but instead learn by accident that they are a man. Off course you wouldn’t. You have to be the biggest scum to do that to someone. There’s so many problems with this. Would Vincent have developed any feelings like that for Rin if he knew from the start that Rin was a man like how his friends Orlando, Johnny are men? Nothing from the original game or this game suggests he would go down that path. This whole thing is just clearly forced.

Next that we believe doesn’t make any sense is Katherine’s reaction to Vincent admitting cheating on her. In the original she was on the calm side (the nightmare doesn’t count) but made it clear she was not happy about it ad that she wanted Vincent to leave her alone by ignoring her messages and call. Yet in the original, taking everything we mentioned earlier from our example into account, was even more calm than ever and remained friends. We can’t think of a single girl who would react like that to being cheated on with a man (he knew you was pregnant), have 5 years wasted and had to confront them about it. We know it’s just a game but that isn’t realistic at all. We definitely love Johnny’s reaction to the news of Vincent leaving Katherine for Rin. He gave him a nasty punch that floored him. Which does make sense since Katherine is also his friend. Vincent’s reaction to the punch by not fighting back or even getting angry shows that they are like brothers in a sense and good friends. Vincent won’t fight back but understands why Johnny did that, knowing he deserved it. They brushed off, accepted each others decisions and went back to having drinks and talking together. They are bros for sure and in some ways can relate to that. So we give a thumbs up for that interaction.

We didn’t like the great reveal that Rin is an alien. It feels completely out of place and makes no sense concerning other matters. For starters we initially though that Rin was an angel since Catherine is the demon and Katherine is the human but Rin could also appear in the nightmares, which Astaroth and Dumuzid couldn’t really do anything about it, until much later which made no sense, why didn’t they attack her, unless she was something powerful too on level or above demons like an angel. Astaroth knew Rin wasn’t normal at all and hiding a big secret. If Rin is not an angel then why is a god like Dumuzid who is a demon basically scared of her and her brothers? I can understand demons being scared of angels but not an alien. Aliens aren’t supernatural. Wouldn’t aliens go to alien hell and therefore demons can torment them? At night wouldn’t Dumuzid have the advantage? Or is he only useful in dreams (if so then what kind of lame god is he)? It just doesn’t go. Also the bunch of alien brothers look so out of place reminding us of the minions from Despicable Me. We thought they could have made the end game of Rin much better.

There are additional stuff in Catherine: Full Body like how some items have new effects. The white block now creates white blocks in a 3×3 shape around the block you are standing on. The energy drink allows you to jump up two blocks but up to three times, when you decide to use it, giving players more control over it. The Rapunzel game has been renamed Super Rapunzel and has more levels with both a remix and classic mode. Rin’s piano can slow down the rate that the blocks fall away and how fast the boss moves after you. The undo system has been reworked, can view the back of the stage more easily, unlimited retries if you die, Babel and Colosseum have new stages (happy about this). O

Online has some new stuff going for it as well. If you play the story while online, you can see the spots where other players have died, which is quite useful so you know which parts can be tough. You get to see the number of deaths in that level nationwide and how they died, like by falling, crushed etc. Catherine: Full Body has gotten quite competitive as you can face and climb off against other players online. There’s even a ranking system too.

The last thing we hate about Catherine: Full Body is definitely the undo system. It’s basically impossible to die unless you are that bad at the game. If you step on a trap block and get spiked, you ‘undo’ and you’re right back where the block is, cancelling your death basically. If you fall off, same thing. Deaths don’t matter as much anymore. In the originally if you died, you died and had to go back to checkpoint or start of level. These changes make the game too easy. Even players who aren’t good at the game like Jay from the kubz scouts can beat Catherine: Full Body. No, beating the game doesn’t make you good at it. Eventually DSP beat the original too. Literally the second boss the immoral beast was the easiest level we have ever seen. It was a joke. Overall the game is easier than the original. We haven’t seen how difficult it is on hard mode though. We can only go by what we know.

Overall Catherine: Full Body is a very good game. We had more to say but it’s long enough as it is. The original Catherine had a better story. Catherine: Full Body is bigger with more features but the main thing that stands out about Catherine is the story so we say the original was the better game from the main part (story) but Catherine: Full Body is better overall with the cool additions, more options, better graphics, more scenes, longer gameplay, more endings, new character etc. It doesn’t have the same Catherine feel but a great game still.

Pathologic 2 is an open world survival thriller game developed by ‘Ice-Pick Lodge‘ and published by ‘tinyBuild‘. Pathologic is said to be coming out on the Xbox One the 12th of December 2019 and PlayStation 4 in 2020. It’s already out on PC though. This game is supposed to be centred around a certain plague that’s destroying society. Let’s take a look.

Pathologic 2 is open world, so expect a whole world. Basically everything is taking place in a town. This town isn’t normal at all. The town is being devastated by a deadly plague. This plague is more than just a disease. What’s worse is that the chief local healer is dead. The player must take his place. Now the developers make this perfectly clear that you can’t save everyone in Pathologic 2. You will be forced to make what’s called lose-lose choices in situations. You need to get to know the society and try to make some friends or allies if you want to call them that.

So you can play this in different ways. Either make some allies and be friends with the locals or you could either just look out for yourself and as they say, “carve out your own path”. When a plague is going on and people are dying with victims going crazy it’s normally better to have allies and people who can back you up.

Now there is some danger off course in Pathologic 2. You probably thinking, well obviously X35 Earthwalker, you guys mentioned the plague but there’s more though, the victims of of the plague have also got a problem with you and will make survival somewhat difficult, so you are facing both the victims of the plague and the plague itself. You don’t have forever though. Players have 12 days.

Like Sims you have to manage your hunger, thirst, tiredness etc. Pathologic 2 is all about survival. Off course at the start of the game, things will definitely be bearable but the game is designed to get harder and harder. Your body just get worse and worse and maybe an organ becomes more unstable than ever before.

We checked out some Pathologic 2 gameplay and it’s sort of what we expected. Fights in this game are short and vicious, you could fight people for their wallets or mug them. Some fights can cost you your life though. The one enemy you can’t really face is the plague itself. Remember that this plague is more than just a disease. Much more.

Overall Pathologic 2 just looks like another survival game based heavily around choices you make in a set period of time. We haven’t seen anything that has gotten us interested in this game though. Nothing stands out to us. We have seen from reviews that it must be good but a game must be more than just a good game for us. The developers have done a good job with this game. We at X35 Earthwalker aren’t looking forward to it being on consoles but others will. Now Pathologic may have a dangerous plague going around but even this plague has no effect on… the ‘Earth Walk!’

Infliction is a horror game developed and published by ‘Caustic Reality‘. Infliction is said to be coming out in the fourth quarter of 2019 on the Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PS4. Infliction is already out on PC though. Now horror games like infliction tend to have similar patterns. We hope this game is different. Let’s take a look.

In Infliction, players must explore a suburban home which once was a happy home but now is the home of tragedy, sorrow and off course horror. Obviously something bad has happened here. The player must explore the place, look around and basically discover what happened here. Not sure why we are doing that. Infliction doesn’t state if the character we control is with the police, FBI, detective, journalist, nothing. We are just here. Strange.

Now i wouldn’t be a horror game if all you did was look around. You are not alone. There’s something here in the house with you. Whatever it is it’s full of rage and definitely grief. So two things are going on here. While you are exploring, reading and finding clues as to what happened here, this being is also hunting you. If it gets the chance it will take out all its issues and anger on you. So yeah, death and all that. Beware…

Now there are some hints on the official website that gives some information concerning the whole situation. The word absolution is being used. This suggests that our character, whoever they are is somehow involved and needs to earn forgiveness but the looks of it. Also the whole Infliction experience is said to be unpredictable which is a good thing. Players need to be kept guessing, especially in horror aspects like this.

Since the house was were a happy family was living then expect Infliction to being dealing with matter relating to everyday life and mature topics. These stuff are being fused with the supernatural. Infliction is about making the player very uncomfortable by letting them relate to what’s going on here.

We checked out some Infliction gameplay and there isn’t much to say. Games like infliction have been done before and you basically know what to expect. Infliction even reminds us of Visage. You’re in a house, exploring and evil is there basically so keep away. Many gamers and YouTubers off course enjoy this stuff like how CoryxKenshin did. The main difference with Infliction though is that not only can you hide from the danger by hiding under the tables and beds but you can get or use light sources to stun the spirit to give you some time to escape. A camera is an example of such a light source.

Overall, Infliction seems like another indoor house exploring horror game where it’s all about the atmosphere, tension and making players afraid to enter. Song of Horror, Visage, Silver Chains are all examples of this. So players should understand what kind of experience they will be getting. The developers ‘Caustic Reality’ has done a good job with this game. they do need to make it stand out more from the other similar games though. We at X35 Earthwalker will just have to see what becomes of Infliction. Now Infliction may have an angry sprit but even that spirit has to stay calm when it comes too… the ‘Earth Walk!’

Ellen is a 2D pixel horror game developed by Red Mount Media and Antarsoft. Ellen is said to be coming out on the Xbox One the 13th of September 2019. It is already out on PC though. Now there’s a good amount of gamers who enjoy 2D pixel horror games. What does Ellen have to offer? Let’s take a look.

In the world of Ellen, players control a young investigator. His name is James… Bond, just joking it’s just James. He’s here to investigate the brutal murder of the Smith family. Basically after the murder, actually some years to be accurate. The towns people are starting to see silhouettes of the daughter. The whole family was killed except the daughter. Her body was never found so now people think it’s her. This off course is disturbing the whole town. So now James is here to investigate and find out what really happened here. Like why was the daughter not murdered with the rest of the family? What happened to her? Who was the murderer?

Now 2D pixel horror games have to take things from a different angle to how normal 3D horror games do things. On Paper, a 2D pixel horror game wouldn’t be scary at all. Not even the modern big horror games has scared X35 Earthwalker. Good pixel horror games need a interesting and mysterious story because gameplay is very limited. Just move the pixel character slowly around and click on items that’s hard to figure out at times because it’s all pixels. Players need to be into the story and want to learn more. The atmosphere needs to be ominous at moments where danger is somewhat nearby. Players recognise the change of music and it gets some players on edge. Timing is key. Many pixel horror games like to have loud music when the monster or enemy shows up. That normally gets players but it’s sort of a cheap jump scare. Ellen needs to balance and get these things correct to stand a chance. Maybe the towns people will load the players head up with numerous rumours that aren’t very positive at all. This might give players clues or the wrong ideas on how to survive.

For example a towns person in Ellen could tell the player that he heard that staying still prevents any creatures from seeing you or that they respond to sound or get easily distracted or somethings like that but it’s up to the player to figure out what works. When players feel powerless and not sure what to do or expect they are far more nervous and more likely to make mistakes. Ellen will also need surprises. The monster shouldn’t be showing up all the time. All this kind of stuff is important. This is why Ellen is going to have a tough time making a big impact on gamers. There isn’t that much to say about Ellen as since it’s a 2D pixel horror game we round about know what to expect at this point. They all have a similar style and gameplay. The main difference is that Ellen is a murder case investigation with mystery.

We have checked out some gameplay and we already like what we see. There isn’t just one danger or monster… there are many dangers and this will keep players on their toes as each one functions differently. There’s some that will try to entangle and wrap you up so don’t stand still. There’s another big beefy one that will chase you down to try and grab you. There’s another that fires projectiles at you. There doesn’t seem to be a clear way of beating these foes. We don’t even know if James gets a weapon. Doesn’t James watch any horror games? He should know to bring a weapon by now. Oh well. There are also some other beings who do not seem violent at all. You can actually interact and talk to them. Strange things happening around here in the world of Ellen. There’s also loads of things to interact with. Like walls, items, structures to hide behind, signs, trees and more. You will probably have to do a lot of investigation… get it… because James is an investigator. Whatever.

Overall Ellen just seems like another 2D pixel horror game. It seems well made for sure and it looks decent for a pixel graphic based style. We don’t like the whole long legs design for the characters though. The sounds and music is very good and that makes a difference in a game like this. We like that there is loads of danger and isn’t just one enemy that will eventually get stale and not scary. The developers Red Mount Media’ have done a good job with this game. We at X35 Earthwalker will keep an ear out what Ellen has to offer gamers. Now Ellen may have a mystery but what’s more mysterious is… the ‘Earth Walk!’

Blair Witch is a new adventure horror game developed by ‘Bloober Team‘. Blair Witch is said to be coming out the 30th of August on the Xbox One and PC. Now many have heard of the Blair Witch project but this ain’t just a project anymore. Rumour has it that some gamers just isn’t ready for this. Let’s take a look.

The world of Blair Witch takes place in the year 1996. Basically a young boy goes missing and all we know is that he disappeared in the Black Hills Forest which is near Burkissville, Maryland. You play a police officer… well an ex cop. Well it wouldn’t be a horror game if your character doesn’t have a disturbing past or haunted by something from the past. You join the search for the young boy and that is your first mistake. It’s not a regular simple investigation, it becomes a terrifying experience or as the game describes, an endless nightmare.

Since it’s called Blair Witch, players can expect to face their fears, the darkness, the woods and off course the Blair Witch herself… if thing even exists. Now from what we know Blair Witch game plans to be completely different from the Blair Witch project. Players will be forced to face their fears (if you have any) and even the Blair Witch. So guess no secrecy this time.

If you played Layers of Fear, then you will sort of know what you are up against as the minds behind that game are working on Blair Witch. Now things will be getting supernatural as well as this forest is said to warp even time and space… which is really crazy when you think about it. Don’t forget, you are navigating the forest just to find a young boy. You aren’t alone though as you do have your best friend… your loyal dog named Bullet.

The game will test you. How you handle yourself and react during the scares, isolation, atmosphere, noises, attacks, getting lost and the horror pressures will reveal some stuff. We won’t say more on the matter. You’ll just have to find out or see for yourself.

We checked out some Blair Witch gameplay and it definitely a mixture. It isn’t all atmospheric and psychological. There are some things in this forest. Some are physical and can interact with you, others are completely there but not physically. Either way this fresh has tons in store and even changes it’s form to some extent. Once you go in, getting out becomes the problem. It’s definitely looking like it will scare many gamers so far.

Overall Blair Witch looks like a very good game so far. It’s the kind of stuff that many youtubers and streamers will jump on (they are slaves to trends) and do lots of exaggerated screams and stuff for. This game will get a popular moment. The graphics are very good and the sounds are very good too. We like the changing design of the forest and how even the sky changes. It’s like a different world in there. The developers ‘Bloober Team’ have done a very good job with this game so far. We at X35 Earthwalker will keep an eye out for this game. Now Blair Witch may have some rumours and whatever but they are just bedtime stories when compared to the events of… ‘the ‘Earth Walk!’

The Blackout Club is a new first person co-op horror game developed by ‘Question‘. The BlackOut Club is said to be coming out the 30th of July 2019 on the Xbox One, PS4 and PC. From what we know it’s a co-op horror game and those are the hardest horror games to successfully make. Let’s take a look.

In the world of The Blackout Club. There’s a small modern town where a group of teenagers live. You, the players, are also a teenager. For some reason, every morning you wake up to find yourself covered in scratches or mud. You also have no memory of the night before. No, the isn’t because of alcohol. It gets worse, sometimes you can have no memory or recollection of whole days. They come to the conclusion that this isn’t sleep walking either. There are other teenagers just like you who are experiencing the same things. They group together becoming friends and forming a team or should we say club to figure out and look into what’s going on around here.

The Blackout Club gets stranger as it doesn’t take long to figure out that right beneath your feet is a whole network of underground tunnels. It gets creepier though. You can at times here music from below. Is is beckoning the youngsters or is someone just having a rave down there. Turn up! We mean let’s be careful. After all when is the last time you lived somewhere that had underground tunnels and music being played? So the youngsters get second thoughts about investigating but last night, your best friend vanished. Also a group of adults wants to get rid of you all. You have to fight back now. If you want to expose them, then you’ll need evidence. So turn your cameras on and start recording.

So yes, the idea of the game is simple. Work together with friends and others to investigate the tunnels, watch each others backs and gather evidence that proves what’s happening here to the whole world. The best way to do that is to use your cameras and phones to record what you find and any encounters. Do all this while avoiding getting captured and maybe even killed. So it’s all about teamwork here.

There’s more than just the streets and the tunnels. There’s even the woods nearby, which can work for you or against you. It’s been made clear that the game is multiplayer so 1-4 players co-op is here. It’s also drop in and out style so you can just get reinforcements in easily and leave when you have to. The developers claim The Blackout Club has high replayability. That each mission is procedurally generated. So players can expect different experiences from other players each time. How the levels are generated are affected by your progression and character level. Other factors that are different will be environmental obstacles, enemy patrols and off course loot locations.

Now let’s talk about the enemies. They are a strange lot. We know they are adults. We know they are called The Shape. We know that if you draw too much attention to yourself, they will come after you. Worst of all is that The Shape can only be seen when you close your eyes. Wait what? What kind of adults are these. This is a problem. Players will need to watch out for each other even more.

We checked out some gameplay and it’s sort of what we thought it would be like. It is quite a detailed world with areas to explore. The graphics could have been better, the sounds are good though. Not sure exactly how the close your eyes mechanic works but we will learn more in the future. You can use weapons like a teaser to get adults of you and even use a crossbow to fire tranquilliser darts too. There’s some levels of strategy to The Blackout Club. Multiple ways to handle different situations. You can also customise your character. Hair styles, new clothing, gestures. Levelling up will also grant access to ability upgrades and new expansion slots. We just have to make this clear. It’s a fact that horror games with multiple players aren’t scary. You have help and company gives confidence. What the Blackout Club is trying to do is a very hard thing. Diamondz L45 didn’t complete Dead Space because she found it scary but when X35 was present and giving advice she made it through levels. She would have zero fear if X35 was playing as well. We literally haven’t seen a co-op horror game that is actually scary at all.

Overall The Blackout Club just seems like an alright game. Nothing makes us just want to play it and we have seen co-op meant to be scary games before and they never really work out that well at all. We hope to see more information concerning the Blackout Club to hopefully see more good stuff. The developers ‘Question’ have put quite a lot of thought into this game and it does show. Now The Blackout Club may have dangerous adults but those adults are a joke when compared to… the ‘Earth Walk!’
