20XX

20XX is a action platformer developed by ‘BatteryStaple Games‘. It’s coming out on the Xbox One the 11th of July, PS4 and Nintendo Switch the 10th of July but already out on PC. Now 20XX has been heavily inspired by Mega Man and it’s clear but do they have more to offer? let’s take a look.

There isn’t much of a story in 20XX. Basically players are fighting to save the human race (maybe). We say maybe because that what the developers keep putting after that sentence. So are we the good guys? What’s really going on here? Guess you’ll have to play to find out. Just like Mega Man X players must run, jump, shoot and blast their way through enemies and levels. 20XX does offer gamers a bit more though.

20XX is also rougelike. You know what that means. Yes, the levels are all random and always changing. 20XX uses procedural level generation algorithm that combines different game mechanics to also change  how players handle each level. Some levels will have more emphasis on combat while another may be heavy in platforming like timing jumps. The more difficult ones will be the combination of heavy platforming and dangerous combat.

20XX

Like any good rough like game there are many power ups and all are random as well. There are over 100 power ups. As you play through 20XX players will earn soul chips, which can be used to expand the pool of items you can find and get powerful upgrades which are permanent. You can also buy upgrades back at your HQ to make future runs easier. By way did we mention ‘die’?

Dying is the last thing you want to do in 20XX (duh) because there is permanent death too. Once you die, yes you go back to HQ for the opportunity to buy upgrades but you will have to start again. Like Spelunky. It gets better. Players have the options of playing different modes and there are difficulty modifiers too. So like with the skulls in Halo players can really change up the game to some extend to make things easier or super challenging.

20XX

20XX’s biggest feature and the thing that gets people’s attention is it’s multiplayer. Yep. Full co-op for all gameplay features both locally and online. So get that gaming couch out and call that friend over. You have some blasting and jumping to do together. Lastly to keep things flowing and give players objectives there are weekly and daily challenges.

We checked out some gameplay and it’s what we thought it would be. We do love the power ups though. like the sharp sharp spear which has more range and damage. The Pollster boss looks simple and dumb at first but then things escalate real fast with him killing first time players almost too quickly. It’s all good and done very well. 20XX definitely got the Mega Man look and feeling down and as it’s more modern looks like it did a better job than Mega Man its self.

Overall 20XX looks like an awesome game. If you are a fan of Mega Man then you will love 20XX. The graphics and sounds are excellent. The game flows smoothly and the controls are said to be very good indeed. The level designs are quite clever with platforming, enemies and even traps. The developers ‘BatteryStaple Games’ did an fantastic job with this game. We at X345 Earthwalker look forward to seeing this come to consoles. Now 20XX may have been inspired but way more have been inspired by… the ‘Earth Walk!’

Crazy Justice

Crazy Justice is a new third person shooter game developed by ‘Black Riddles Studios‘. It’s coming out later this year on the Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PS4 and PC. There is lots of information on this game and it was successfully funded by gamers, more than passing their required amount. Let’s take a look.

Crazy justice, straight way from the character design and graphic style, should remind many players of another game. Maybe Fortnite… Now not much information is given concerning the story but we do know that players control a character who is out to stop the forces of evil, like every other story. You do this by activating hidden Tesla coils. Don’t ask us why. This all however cause some major issues in the world, lots of chaos. The enemy is the steampunk horde. Crazy Justice aims to deliver an entertaining action packed story. The main focus of the game is actually the multiplayer.

As you play you will collect items and even win items too. Find new heroes, collect special weapons. There is character customisation and players can construct their own skill decks. In the final version of the game, players can battle it out with their character on five different maps in five different game modes. Games like this have one thing in common… continual expansion. Gamers should expect additional content and downloads coming to Crazy Justice to add more to the game.

Crazy Justice

The multiplayer game modes are very different to each other. ‘Survive the Tesla’ is where there is a Tesla coil in the middle of the map. it’s generating a shield. As players battle and kill each other, that shield gets smaller and smaller until the max limit. If you are out of the shield, you die. Simple right? ‘Survive’ has 6 sectors. Over time each sector one by one will be destroyed. Players in that area must run for their lives. Lastly everyone will be in one sector to settle the score once and for all. ‘Protect the Tesla’ is two teams facing off against each other. Both teams have a Tesla to defend and it’s surrounded by a fortress, which can be upgraded if players have the right amount of materials. Build traps and other defence systems to help. Whoever destroys the enemy Tesla or has done the most damage wins.

Crazy Justice did something right that many games have done wrong. The biggest offender of this is off course Halo 5 Guardians. Crazy Justice supports local splitscreen multiplayer. Players can even connect an external controller, allowing for some great gameplay with friends.

It’s clear that the developers of Crazy Justice got some inspirations from others game, which is a good thing and learnt from other games too. For example all the maps in Crazy Justice have both high and low cover for characters to hide behind and fire from. just like in Gears of war.

Crazy Justice

The game has lots of destructible environments. Now destructible environments are excellent additions to games. They allow for deeper layers of multiplayer strategies, it’s more fun and makes the game more realistic since we know for a fact that rockets and blood up rocks in many cases. We have seen a player shoot out a floor, so that they can descend into the area below. Pretty cool. By the way, this destructible environment was done using Unreal Engine 4 and Nvidia Phyx

Crazy Justice is very versatile and this is why. Crazy Justice supports some crazy Cross-Network play! That’s right. Players who own Crazy Justice can play with players from the Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC. For preference reasons, players will have the option to only play with same platform players as well. Having a choice is a great move.

We checked out some gameplay and Crazy Justice definitely reminds us off Fortnite but more of a steam punk like style and more ground based combat. It’s not battle royal but has different game modes as we mentioned above. The building system is like Dungeon Defenders 2, simple but works. The cover system works well with the destructible environment. This means that multiplayer will be quite dynamic.

Overall Cray Justice looks like a great game. Seems like a friendly place for casual gamers to step into. Obvious aspects for competitive and pro players to dive into and a good amount of variety. Plus new content will be coming over time which is a great sign. The graphics are good for it’s style, the sounds fit the theme and style of the game. The developers ‘Black Riddles studio’ did a excellent job with this game. We at X35 Earthwalker are looking forward to what crazy Justice truly has to offer gamers. Now Crazy Justice isn’t about justice at all, but one thing that does have justice is… the ‘Earth Walk!’

Super Bomberman R

Super Bomberman R is a action maze game developed by ‘Konami‘ and Hexadrive. It is coming out on Xbox One and PS4 the 14th of June and the 13th of June on PC but already out on Nintendo switch. This game is said to have more bombs and fun. Let’s take a look.

Many gamers know Bomberman. Either from the days of the Sega genesis or more recent titles like Bomber battlefest. Bomberman is all about indestructible Bombermen who get together and have a blast using bombs and other explosives. Yes they do have a story like stopping dangerous enemies who either split the planet into pieces or collecting the bomb element crystals. This latest title Super Bomberman R is said to be ‘Lit’.

Super bomberman R

Super Bomberman R has the return of the famous bomber men but now there are 8 Bomberman bros: White, Black, Pink, Blue, Red, Yellow, Aqua and green. Each having their own unique personality and silly traits. They are up against their arch nemesis, Buggler who is out to destroy the universe, which is a very dumb plan. He doesn’t want to rule the universe but destroy it? So wouldn’t he die too? Anyway, he has with him the 5 Dastardly bombers who are a group of powerful bombermen who have very interesting powers. The story mode is interesting as of right now.

The multiplayer however; is what we all know Bomberman for. Battle mode has the traditional game mode of last man standing basically. So destroy the others and the be the sole survivor to win. There are 19 different stages to battle on and but it has been made clear that Super bomberman R got even more maps which are said to make matches unpredictable.

Super bomberman R

Along with the additional maps there are a bunch of new characters as well like: Simon Belmont Bomber, Goemon Bomber, Dracula Bomber, Pyramid head Bomber, Aubis Bomber and more. each having their own special ability which will certainly mix things up on the battlefield. This reminds us of a Play Station 1 Bomber game where some characters had special abilities like shooting flames, detonating bombs with bullets, dashing by rockets etc. It adds layers to matches.

Lastly Super Bomber R gets Grand Prix mode which according to Konami is made for future esports initiatives. It’s basically a package of match types made for 3v3 competitive gameplay. One of the modes is crystal matches where the two teams must collect crystals to score gain points but off course getting hit by a bomb will cause players to lose half of their crystals.

We checked out some gameplay and so far it looks cool. The High high bandits are here and still causing trouble. The boss battles with the 5 dastardly bombers are definitely epic. For example Magnet Bomber isn’t a pushover as he is quite fast, got multiple bombs and his magnet bombs will follow you for a period of time through magnetism. The story mode have over 50 levels. In Battle mode, the biggest flavour comes from the different stages which have different environments and map elements. Everything so far looks real cool. just how they draw some of the bombermen poses do look a little lame, even for a children’s style game.

Overall Super Bomberman R is a very cool game. The graphics are great and the music is great too. The voices and animations are funny and works well for this style. The campaign can be done in co-op two players while Battle mode can have up to 8 players. We just hope they bring in more game types for multiplayer as that’s a solid advantage that Bomberman Battlefest had. The developers ‘Konami’ and ‘Hexadrive’ did a excellent job. We at X35 Earthwalker are looking forward to playing Super Bomberman R. Now bombermen have a blast but nothing is more fun than… the ‘Earth Walk!’

Shape of the World

Shape of the world is a new first person exploration game developed by ‘Hollo Tree Games‘. Shape of the world is coming out the 6th of June on Xbox One and Nintendo Switch but coming out the 5th of June on the Mac, PS4 and PC. This game is said to get people away from the real world. Let’s take a look.

Shape of the world is very different from majority other games. How? Well in Shape of the world there is no perils, enemies, puzzles, platforming or challenges etc. It’s literally just about exploring, looking around, getting lost, taking in the sights, having a good time and all at the players own pace. That’s right, no timer or anything. It’s just like Abzu which was all about exploration too with no enemies but all under water.

The world in Shape of the world is very much alive. There are colours everywhere. Games like this have learnt and applied the fact that big and colourful worlds with lots going on seem to pull people in the most. Lots or procedurally populated plants which means as you travel, expect a bunch of different plants everywhere. It really does change from place to place so stop and take a look. Also there are lots of different creatures as well. We have seen some that look like round ghosts, there are some slowly flying dolphins, larger but harmless worms and much more.

Shape of the World

It’s all about the player in Shape of the world. The world doesn’t even live without the player. Mainly thanks to the interaction. For example if you come across a forest, you will notice that as you get near to it, it begins to grow and come to life. The forest will also regrow in a new and different way. So players are advised to retrace their steps over time to see what new stuff they see.

We checked out some gameplay and even though the whole point of the Shape of the World is very simple, the gameplay itself is deeper than you think. Players actions will  change and altar the world in big ways, so experiment. Players can also interact with Ephemeral flora, Grand monoliths and even some creatures. So it isn’t as simple as you would think. There is quite a lot to do but it has been said that Shape of the World is a 1-3 hour game, off course depending on the players pace through the game.

Overall, Shape of the World is a very cool game. The visuals and graphics are great for what it is. The music was done excellently as it’s responsive and changes according to where you are in terms of location. The developers ‘Hollow Tree Games’ did a excellent job with this game. We at X35 Earthwalker are not looking forward to this game as it’s not our style at all but we know others will love this. Now exploration is important but the one thing worth exploring is… the ‘Earth Walk’.

Moonlighter

Moonlighter is a new action RPG game with some rouge-lite elements developed by ‘Digital Sun‘. It’s coming out the 29th of May on the Xbox One, PS4 and PC. It will also come out on the Nintendo Switch in 2018 but not exactly sure when. This action RPG looks real cool. Let’s take a look.

In the world of Moonlighter, players take control of a shopkeeper. That’s right, a shopkeeper who goes out daily to collect items for his shop. Who longs to go on a great adventure and be known as a hero. Looks like he’ll finally get his chance. Some gates were discovered during a archeological excavation which took place a long time ago. A small commercial village called Rynoka was founded near this same excavation site. Rynoka provided a place for adventurers to temporarily stay and sell the items and treasures they found. The people, including the shop keeper learnt that the ancient passages lead to different realms and dimensions.

Moonlighter

As a shopkeeper, players must manage shop. This means handling the shop finances, putting items on for sale and also setting their prices. Players can upgrade the shop, kind of like in Animal Crossing with Tom nooks shop. Make sure to also hire shop assistants. Like with a real store, you must be careful as some people might try to steal your stuff. Why can’t people be decent? So as you can see, it’s not just going out and adventuring but also handling a shop on a daily basis.

Like the shop, the village is loaded with different people in Moonlighter. Getting to know the villagers is essential as they reveal their needs as a customer. so the right information can help increase sales. Some villagers have big requests, requiring rare items that players have to seek out and bring back and in return that villager will pay you very generously. Also it’s with the villagers that players can do crafting to get new armour, weapons and even enchant certain items. Kind of reminds you of Minecraft.

Moonlighter

As mentioned before, there are many gates which lead to different dimensions and realms. This means they can take players anywhere, which means players must be prepared for everything, so carry equipment and items that covers a range of needs. The enemies vary greatly as well and that’s one thing Moonlighter so far does well, which is variety. Variety is very important for gamers. It was something the new God of War lacked with their bosses. Fighting a similar troll monster multiple times.

Do not forget. Amongst all the fighting and exploring, the main thing is to collect loot. Grab everything! Treasures, artifacts, valuable resources, armours and weapons. It’s all fair game. Not only that some found loot could be used to make you more powerful but you can also put some of these up in the store for the villagers and customers to buy and keep your shop alive and running smoothly.

Moonlighter

Off course, the enemies and bosses are not going to let us just walk around and grab all this loot. They need to be handled. Now Moonlighter has quite a surprisingly deep combat mechanics. All this combat depends on the interaction between enemies, weapons, secondary effects of items and abilities. So players need to get creative, find their own combat styles. Before you know it, players will invent their own combos and flow of actions. Not every enemy can be handled the same way.

We checked out some gameplay. Moonlighter firstly has some smooth animations for movement and combat. There are truly different enemies. some are squishy while others are hard and roll up into a ball. Use a bow and arrow, a bigger broadsword and more. Many items and abilities to use like instant escapes, gap leaping, blocking with shields, healing and much more. Even the history of the character is quite engaging. You can relate to the whole subject of putting duty and responsibilities first.

Overall Moonlighter is a very cool game. The story behind it all is very good and will relate to many gamers. The combat mechanics are quite deep and provide many options for players. the graphics are not that great for it’s style. the sounds and music are very good indeed. It’s creative how this game is designed. The developers ‘Digital Sun’ did a excellent job with this game. We at X35 Earthwalker look forward to seeing Moonlighter come out. Now not every adventure pays off but one thing that always pays off is… the ‘Earth Walk!’

Awkward

Awkward is a new casual party question game developed by ‘Snap Finger Click‘. Awkward will be coming out the 5th of June on the Xbox One, PS4 and PC but on the Nintendo Switch the 19th of June. This game we hear really tests relationships. Let’s take a look.

Awkward isn’t some big adventure game and there is no princess to save but that doesn’t mean Awkward hasn’t got a story behind it. Apparently this game was banned years ago because it caused an increase in family feuds, fights and divorces! That’s extreme! Are they being serious. We at X35 Earthwalker right now know for a fact that we are mature and good friends enough that no game will make us fight or anything serious like a divorce. Grow up people.

Awkward is meant to be the ultimate test in learning how well you know your friends, or spouse or family. You must answer a series of questions and the other players must guess what they think the first player answered. Sounds simple… but there’s a catch. The questions get increasingly less trivial and more uncomfortable and eventually bringing out secrets. This is where the problems begin to come out. Prepare for some shocks.

Awkward

So that old truthful saying “You truly do not know them” will come to life right in front of many through this game. For example as shown above there’s a question forcing players to decide whether they would save a 1 year old or an 18 year old if they can only pick one. There will be some women who will hate you for not saving the baby. There’s another question where you must answer what you prefer concerning your partner: their body or face. This is a risky one but be honest. This is just the start by the way.

Awkward has all the original questions, which were banned.. they also have a bunch of new ones too. They were written by Joanna Haslam from ‘It’s quiz time’ and Danny Gallagher from ‘Quiplash’. There is a single player mode to see how your answers stack up to the rest of the world or have six players join in which can lead to competitive or cooperative gameplay. There is also multiple game modes too. Awkward also has streaming technology which let’s up to 500,000 concurrent viewers join in, on Mixer, Youtube and Twitch. They don’t need to go to a website or use an app. They play from the stream chat.

Awkward

We checked out some gameplay and it’s exactly what it says on the box. A series of questions which get more and more uncomfortable and risky to the point where it sparks debates and hopefully not, some arguments. Can you still be friends? Do you still love them? We hope so. If not, then grow up!

Overall this looks like a fun game. A serious game but still fun. It’s one of those things where you must be mature and think about who you are playing with. Do not play with others who are very sensitive. Be wise about this and decide whether you should play or not. The developers ‘Finger Snap Click’ did a great job with this game. We at X35 Earthwalker would like to give this a try. Now some questions are very personal, but nothing is more personal than… the ‘Earth Walk!’

Shaq-Fu: A Legend Reborn

Shaq-Fu: A Legend Reborn is a beat em up action game developed by ‘Big Deez Production’ and ‘Saber Interactive‘. Shaq-Fu: A Legend Reborn is coming out the 5th of June on the Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PS4 and PC. Let’s hope they don’t Fu it up this time. Let’s take a look.

Shaq-Fu is one of those games that created their own legacy. Now it created it’s own for all the wrong reasons. Some described the last game as ‘so bad that it’s good’. The developers this time have declared that it’s something special this time and that it will get even the most hardened gamers thumbs sore. In case you don’t know, Shaq-Fu: A Legend Reborn is about Shaquille O’Neal who is now a retired professional basketball player.

Shaq-Fu: A Legend Reborn

Now the development team behind Shaq-Fu: A Legend Reborn is quite the force and not to be taken lightly. They have developers and people who have worked for Sega, Ubisoft, Namco, EA, Atari and Microsoft and with a select group of developers who have been involved in games such as the Halo franchise, Madden series, Final Fantasy, Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter, Perfect Dark. Now I am sure many gamers will recognise many of those names. So there’s a good chance that this team will make Shaq-Fu: A Legend Reborn a great game.

The story in Shaq-Fu: A Legend Reborn is quite interesting. Basically Yen Lo Hang has sent demons to earth but they are disguised as celebrities who are train washing people and turning them into servants. It’s up to Shaquille O’Neal… we mean Shaq Fay Hung to find these demons and kill them. Shaq’s mentor dies very dramatically and like Darth Vader, Shaw let’s out an equally dramatic “Nooooooooooooooooo!’ Very entertaining.

It’s a beat em up but with some pretty cool features. You can smash enemies into the screen, multiple suits and power ups to give you the edge you need like the cactus looking suit allowing you to flip prickles at enemies. There is even a mech looking suit. Sort of like Streets of Rage to some extent, minus the suits. A lot of work has gone into this game as some actions and moves have been done with motion capture. Some fans even got to submit their own signature move and send it to the team who put it into their game. Now that’s awesome. It’s always great to get the fans involved.

Honestly there isn’t much to say about this game except that the famous Shaq Fu game is coming back and it’s way better than what it use to be with a very experienced team developing it. It’s even got a lot of support already on Indiegogo. Graphics and sounds are good. The style used for cinematic and even combat fits the game nicely. The developers ‘Big Deez Productions’ and ‘Saber Interactive’ have done an great job with this game. We at X35 Earthwalker hope that Shaq-Fu: A Legend Reborn does well with the gaming community. Now Shaq may be a great fighter but he ain’t as great as… the ‘Earth Walk!’

Deep Ones

Deep Ones is an action arcade style platformer developed by ‘Burp! Games’. Deep Ones is coming out on 11th of April for Xbox One and 28th of April for Nintendo Switch but already out on PC. Don’t expect fancy graphics here it’s all suppose to be retro looking. Let’s take a look.

The story of Deep Ones is that the main character, who looks like a deep sea diver from Scooby doo, was in a his submarine but had a crash. Why? because of some giant red Octopus who has issues. Basically it has a need to just destroy every traveller that he comes across. Our character Diver, it’s just some tourist or simple traveller. He goes out to traverse the bottom of the ocean. Enter the darkest parts of the ocean and cut his way through the dreaded… sea weed that is in his path.

Now off course it ain’t that simple. Diver will have to face the monsters of the unknown… monsters of the deep in order to get his submarine back. So what the red octopus left it intact or something? The game does encourage you to take in the sights as there are some landscapes that are worth viewing (we will be the judge of that). Not only that, but there are some others down there who can become trustworthy allies to aid you in your survival and have stories of their own to share with the player.

Deep Ones

Deep Ones is said to have a philosophical storyline so expect some thinking to take place. Like why does the ocean have too have water and why are their creatures in the deep? It really makes you think (not really). maybe that’s also why it’s called Deep Ones… because it’s real deep. If you couldn’t tell, the visual presentation of the game has been inspired by the ZX Spectrum. That explains the colours and lines etc. Pretty cool. We at X35 Earthwalker do like how it is presented.

The last thing but most likely the most unique and cool thing about Deep Ones is the fact that it’s said to have multi-genre parts. So basically the game is mainly platformer yes but there will be parts in the game where things get mixed up and other genres get introduced. There will be a part where you will not be on foot but riding an animal and firing like a chase, then there will be a moment where the game will be like a shoot em up for example. This honestly sounds cool so let’s hope that was executed well.

We checked out some gameplay and it looks like a retro styled action platformer. It’s off course nothing special or amazing but it does look like it’s made well and it’s doing it’s own thing. There are many enemies that all have their own behaviour and attack patterns. You can use a harpoon like gun and there is a even a sword for melee combat. Expect boss enemies as well which have predictable patterns but that was how the old games use to be like. Get the pattern and then exploit it. Nothing wrong here so far.

Deep Ones

Overall Deep Ones sounds like a good game. According to the reviews we have seen, most say that it is good and has been recommended as well. The controls are said to be sort of bad but that’s probably difficult controls to replicate some of the games of the old times. Who knows. The graphics are nice but the music stands out much more. The developers ‘Burp! Games’ did a great job with this game. We at X35 Earthwalker aren’t interested but we do suggest that gamers take a look at it for themselves. Now a giant red octopus is bad, but it ain’t good enough for… the ‘Earth Walk!’

Unholy Heroes

Unruly Heroes is a new 2D action adventure game developed by ‘Magic Design Studios‘. It’s coming out later this quarter of the year on the Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PS4 and PC. This game has quite the story to tell. Let’s take a look.

Let’s start from the very beginning. Unruly Heroes was inspired by a famous Chinese legend which we are sure many have heard of. It’s called ‘A journey to the West’. The Monkey king legend. So straight away there are some expectations in terms of the story, it’s depth, music and messages for the gamers. Already we at X35 Earthwalker are interested.

The developers claim that Unruly Heroes will be an epic adventure and that it will be an unforgettable experience. We can see this being true. The concept behind the game and inspiration should make that easier to accomplish. There are four characters and straight away the creativity is shown. there is a human who seems to be spiritual based and is surrounded by light, maybe to symbolise a moral or holy nature. The next is a fat pig (KiHong) who appears to laugh a lot, suggesting that he’s the most laid back and relaxed one. The next is a large blue monster but humanoid, having knowledge and uses martial arts. The last is a monkey (WuKong) who has a staff and looks a bit too cool to be a regular staff wielding monkey.

Unruly Heroes

Not much information is given concerning game but we have checked out some gameplay and it reminds us of ‘Rayman Origins‘. The gameplay looks awesome. Dash, run, jump, and off course lots of combat. Their are bosses to defeat and each of the four characters have different fighting styles. KiHong is very agile and relies a lot on strength tactics as well. The monkey is heavily reliant on his weapon which can change size and he can even turn into a bird. The large blue monster is martial arts hand to hand combat heavy with mighty strikes. The human who acts too graceful has  mystical powers and uses light to strike enemies whether in balls of light or worse. So yep it’s quite clear who our favourite character is already.

From what we have already seen Unruly heroes looks awesome. KiHong has some awesome looking aerial moves and serious combos. There is a giant monster who looks like it’s going to become a problem. This game off course supports four player co-op which sounds awesome by the way. There is also a PvP mode which sounds even cooler. Hopefully none of the characters are OP. The bosses seem to have their own characteristics and styles which we certainly appreciate. The graphics and style are excellent indeed. Hand drawn art work and it looks amazing so far. Maybe if we saw more it might make our top 5 list.

Overall Unruly Heroes looks awesome. The concept is there, the graphics are amazing and the music is what we wanted. When you hear it, you think of Chinese legends which is what it should have. The developers ‘Magic Games Studios’ did an awesome job so far. We at X35 Earthwalker are looking forward to Unruly Heroes and what this game has to offer. Now the Unruly Heroes may been skilled fighters but even them combined aren’t a match for… the ‘Earth Walk!’

Slime-san

Slime-san is an action adventure game developed by ‘Fabraz‘. It’s already out on PC and Nintendo Switch but coming out in March on the Xbox One and PS4. This game has been compared toSuper meat boy. Let’s take a look.

In the world of Slime-san players control a little slime called… Slime-san, who was just enjoying himself, minding his own business but gets swallowed by a giant worm. Now it isn’t safe in there because the worm’s stomach acid will digest the player so the aim is to escape by sliming your way through the worms body and back out through the point of entry… the mouth. Sounds not serious, fun and simple which is good for games like this.

So the main challenge of this game is to move fast. This is because the wall of stomach acid is constantly chasing you. So all that hopping, jumping, and sliming around need sot be done with precision, timing and little mistakes to survive and progress through the worm. Now Slime-san isn’t some simple, he has some tricks. Fr example he can break through certain weaker obstacles with a dash move. Since he’s a slime he can go through cracks and certain surfaces too.

Slime-san

The worm has swallowed quite a number of things. There is a town filled with survivors. They are described as colourful characters. In the town is where players can do their shopping for things that will help Slime-san out. We have many questions regarding this town. Like what part of the worm is this town located? Like with other towns in games this one has secrets. So be the kind of player who likes to explore.

Now Slime-san is loaded. For starters their are 100 levels! The new game plus mode brings in an additional 100 more level. So 200 levels in total! There are secrets, collectibles and stuff to unlock. There are partially digested apples for players to collect to unlock mini game, shades and outfits. You can even unlock competitive multiplayer arcade games which his really cool when you think about it. There are three game modes to unlock: Speed running, New game+ and Boss rush mode. The names are self explanatory.

We checked out some gameplay and we can say this game looks cool. There is quite a number of mechanics in this game. Walls that you can pass or become solid platform, bouncing on the walls, moving platforms, avoiding the red surfaces, items that grant abilities or new actions. There is a lot going on here. Definitely can see why some compare this to Super meat boy. It’s fast and will be difficult to many gamers.

Overall Slime-san seems like a really good game. The graphics are pixel style and work very well here. lots of work went into the music as over ten composers, like “Adhesive Wombat”, “Ties”, “MegaNeko” and more contributed to make over 20 songs. That’s team work for ya. The action is fast pace and there is loads of content. The developers ‘Fabraz’ did a nice job with this game. We at X35 Earthwalker want to see how well Slime-san does on the consoles. Slime-san may be moving fast but not fast enough for… the ‘Earth Walk!’
