Kingdom Come: Deliverance

Kingdom Come: Deliverance is a new open world RPG developed by ‘Warhorse Studios’. It’s coming out the 13th of February for the Xbox One, Play Station 4 and PC. In Kingdom Come: Deliverance players are thrown into the world and times of the roman empire. swords, shields and lots of yelling. Let’s take a look.

In Kingdom Come: Deliverance, you play Henry who’s the son of a blacksmith. Henry has a peaceful life but that all got ruined when a mercenary raid shows up. Your village is destroyed and burned to the ground. this raid was ordered by king Sigismund himself. Let’s get some of the back story. This all takes place in Europe 1403, in a region called ‘Bohemia’ which had everything going for it. It was had money  rich culture and structures everywhere like castles. Bohemia’s beloved ruler, Emperor, Charles IV  died. Basically one of the Emperors sons, Wenceslas took over the throne but was’t as good as Charles was. Then Wenceslas’s half brother, king Sigimund takes action, kidnaps Wencelas and takes over the place. This off course is bad.

With no where to go, family ruined and off course some sort of vengeance in your heart, you end up in the service of Lord Radzig Kobyla who just so happens to be forming a resistance to combat and fight against the invaders. Now you, Henry, the player are now in the middle of a very bloody civil war. Bohemia needs an hero. Fight and do your best. It certainly won’t be easy. The enemy isn’t a rage tag group of soldiers, they now how to wield a sword as well. Don’t forget that.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance - X35 Earthwalker

The developers wanted to make sure that gamers had as many options as possible about how you do things in the game. Use your reputation and charisma to your advantage. Maybe get some residents or characters on your side or get what you need from them. So your responses, words and what you do with certain individual characters and who you impress will definitely matter. So how will you handle your situations? Handle with your words and very polite or will you use force, raise your sword and make them hand it over. It’s up to you. Just don’t forget that freedom of choice is the main thing about this game. There are many ways to complete a quest and it’s up to the player how you do it but never forget that whatever you do will have consequences.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance also payed attention to some smaller details as well. The developers wanted to make this game very realistic as well. NPCs in the game will react to what you do, even if that means reporting you to the authorities. So snitching is a real thing here. There are actually weather patterns in Kingdom Come: Deliverance so rain, probably fog as well. That sounds real cool. It gets better though. There is a functioning day and night system. This is awesome. It adds more layers to the game. You could attack at night in the rain. Or wait for a sunny day.

We checked out some gameplay and we can confirm that this won’t be a hack and slasher at all. Each fight will require players to use their head and have good timing. Wait for an opening and then exploit it. It’s all European sword fighting. Wield many weapons like swords, maces, off course axes and more like the bow and arrow. Join large battles with many soldiers yelling and swinging their swords and even help with castle sieges. The action is far from dull. It’s definitely something you should check out for yourself. The 1v1 fights can go so wrong very quickly so have the right armour and don’t rush.

Overall Kingdom Come: Deliverance seems like a very cool RPG. The graphics are excellent for a game this large. High attention to details. The animations and weapon control of the characters are all done through motion capture with “experienced sword fighters” (X35 Earthwalker could easily beat them). A lot of effort and time went into Kingdom Come: Deliverance. The developers, ‘Warhorse Studios’ did an amazing job with this game. We at X35 Earthwalker are looking forward to see what this game has to offer on a full scale. Now the 15th century is not for everyone but there’s one thing that’s too much for the 15 century and that’s… the ‘Earth Walk!’

Outcast: Second Contact

Outcast: Second Contact is a action adventure open world game developed by ‘Appeal’. It’s coming out the 14th of November for Xbox One, PS4 and PC. Outcast: Second Contact is a complete remake of the original1999 Outcast game. That’s 18 years. Let’s take a look.

In Outcast: second contact, players control Cutter Slade who is an former special forces operative who was sent on a mission to the planet Adelpha which is the home of an ancient and advanced alien civilisation. Cutter Slade went with a group of scientists but not everything went according to plan. The game has quite a bit of emphasis on how your choices and actions will determine the fate of the two worlds.

Outcast: Second Contact has superior graphics and reworked controls. Basically they are improving the game in every way possible and straight up we can confirm that the game looks real good. As players go about trying to prevent a terrible catastrophe, they will notice some new things… things that even the players of the 1999 original will be surprised by. So expect a lot of new things coming your way which is how it’s suppose to be; because having just an improved graphics game is great but at least add some new stuff.

In this strange parallel world, magic and science mixes together at times, which means players can expect some strange stuff that you would only see in fantasy worlds. Outcast: second Contact have some cool and advanced exotic cities to discover and explore. An alien planet means alien enemies with are normally fierce enemies. expect everything from lush jungle ares to lava rocky places to frozen, snowy looking lands. in total there are 6 different continents.

New moves for Cutter Slade which players need to master like: sprint, a cover system, dodges and rolls. Go absolutely anywhere from the start, meaning complete freedom. The weapons you have are nor normal at all but think about your situation and use the right high tech gadgets and evolving weapons for success.

We checked out some gameplay and it looks like the game is going for the same feel that the original has but obviously improved. It doesn’t look as impressive to us as others will say it is. It’s clear that a good amount of work went into this but we can tell they could have done more but are trying to still keep it classic.

Overall Outcast: second Contact looks like a trip down memory lane for the original fans but a new adventure for newer gamers. This game has everything from the original but some extras. The graphics are good but the music and sounds are better. The world design and environments are definitely very good indeed. It’s what you would typically expect from a remake. The developers ‘Appeal’ did a very good job with this game. Outcast: Second Contact might be worth checking out. Now this game might be a remake but you can never remake… the ‘Earth Walk!’

Shadow of war is a new action RPG developed by ‘Monolith Productions’ coming out October 10th for Xbox One, PS4 and PC. If you was a fan of Shadow of Mordor then Shadow of war should be for you.

Honestly we never heard of Shadow of war or Shadow of Mordor until recently so we checked out some game play and liking what we saw. You must take on fortresses in really big battles with your own army of Orcs. Your goal is to dominate Mordor. The combat system instantly reminds us of Batman arkham as in you dash from enemy to enemy striking them and waiting for that indication that an enemy is attacking, for you to block or parry. You see your combo count and can do some cool looking executions like knocking them on the floor and then face punching them just like in Gears of war 3 & 4 but much faster (it’s called fury). The combat isn’t that fast. The enemies kind of just stand by and wait for their turn to attack you, like in the movies. The good thing about this means you will have an easier time in combat.

Shadow of War has an army screen is real cool. Your army is made up of different Orcs with different strengths and weaknesses. Like the beast master is larger and more powerful than the ‘Warmonger Marksman’ but he is heavily damaged by ranged attacks so he will need support when attacking places that have lots of archers and ranged attacks etc. Some Orcs have masks like the Mystic destroyer while we saw another bigger Orc with antlers. The mystic destroyer gets dazed by Caragors and is weak against poison so players must take these things into account. Ogg the Elder is a powerful legendary Warmonger assassin but even it has some weaknesses like being terrified of Morgai flies. The Orcs are so different and interesting that it just adds much more to the game than what any previous ones have.

When attacking strongholds and fortresses in Shadow of War, you have the opportunity to upgrade and make certain units have abilities to help you dominate the stronghold. Like more defensive soldiers to help capture points faster or have more hunters who are more effective against beasts. Will your siege beats launch fire or poison? Think about it. It literally gets real deep. You can be supported with a swarm of spiders that poison and attack, or have a drake which flies around and rains down fire or have a giant war Graug who can fling boulders and help cause immense destruction.

A whole lot of work went into this game and it shows. You can save yourself from some executions with quick time events in the middle of a battle and they look flashy. We saw a giant olaf kill the player and then break their sword; however if you find that same creature and kill it then you get your sword back but upgraded and more powerful. There are a lot of powers, abilities, upgrades and moves in Shadow of war like ‘unstoppable’ which increases your critical strike chance significantly as you keep your hit streak over 30. You have options though as you could choose ‘Elven Precision’ increases your chances of critical hits if you time your button press with landed strikes. Scale the sides of walls to reach certain enemies like archers. Throw knives in the middle of combos, flip over enemies or even back hand some.

We think the ‘Wraith shield’ will seriously come in handy because it allows a wraith to counter enemies who try to interrupt you completing a ground execution. Use drain to steal health from enemies and even when upgraded, brand enemies to make them on your side. Turn them against each other. The ground execution upgrade allows you to drain enemies you knocked down in the middle of combat.

Overall this game is looking real cool right now. The smooth flowing combat with multiple options. The army screen is just great to have. The details of the Orcs like items and strengths all just adds to level of design. The graphics look great right now. The sounds are great as well. The developers ‘Monolith Productions’ did a really good job so far with this game. We at X35 Earthwalker think Shadow of War is worth checking out. Some like Orcs while others don’t regardless of what you like, just make sure to like… the ‘Earth Walk!’
